One of my favourite cafes in Auckland. Hidden away from the bustling area of Devenport, I took a ferry over from the CBD. A lovely walk through the neighborhood to reach here. Greeted by very friendly staff members whom treated us really well even received complimentary snacks at the end. My recommendation is the Les Sandwiches - all the flavours are so good! Coffee is also amazing - I often end up having two cups of coffee here as it is so well made. Lovely French atmosphere and good seating area both indoors and outdoors. I highly recommend this cafe to all! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options around. Kid-friendliness: Alot of kids around with their parents. Parking: Easy parking off street nearby. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible throughout.
Great coffee and food, with excellent service. Good vegetarian and vegan selections including granola with coconut panacotta and a delicious vegan bowl. Also: French pastries!Food: 5/5
Real bread, the best pastries and great coffee. Under new management and looking fresher snd better than ever. Still the same quality food, your old favorites as we as some new treats. Be prepared though. It is also super busy, but everything under control so wait is short! Still going strong. Always some new treats to tempt you.
We have been regular customers of this cafe for many years but were totally floored with the rude and arrogant behaviour of the French owner today . When we ordered our usual coffees and a ham roll as we have been doing for years we were told that we couldn’t eat the roll at the cafe as the cabinet food was now takeaway only . In other words you can’t sit and have coffee and eat any of the cabinet food! Unbelievable . He then ignored me, walked off, served the person behind me and then said if I didn’t like the new rules I could go elsewhere , which we promptly did ! We were gobsmacked. He couldn’t care a toss that we were regulars . Talk about shooting themselves in the foot. The silver lining to this review is that the coffee across the road was far superior . We will never be back.
This place used to be amazing however Alain the Manager is so incredibly rude this place is no longer a gem. Yesterday we visited and the place was utter chaos with mistake after mistake being made. They only provide takeaway cups for coffee unless you ask and paper bags for food from cabinet. The food was tasteless and service shocking. Please don’t attempt to use the bathroom as you’ll be horrified at the smell coming from the rubbish bins next to it attracting hundreds of flies. I have never experienced something so horrible and I have travelled to many countries. Please Alain, you need to be polite and friendly like all the wonderful French people I know.
Absolutely delicious food! yummy eggs, scrumptious pastries, almond croissants and crepes all made in-house. I would eat here every day if I lived nearby….and get very fat
The menu food still looks good, but sadly the sandwich situation has massively deteriorated since our last visit. They used to do the most incredible made-to-order baguettes. No more. Got a totally average pre-made sandwich with supermarket-grade bread and ham.Food: 3/5
Amazing, delicious food I must say you should try. Atmosphere wise it's good not too noisy, if you want to enjoy ur food with best environment then guys visit this place.
Fantastic coffee and food - put regular in Devonport. The ham and cheese baguette and quiches are fantastic. The almond croissants are probably the best in Auckland.
'The Emperor's New Clothes.' story comes to mind with this business owner as he over sells and under delivers. In our experience of his catering the food was absurdly expensive, wasn't what we ordered and so poor our guests complained. [embarrassing for us to say the least!]. This cafe owner seems to lack the basic understanding that Auckland is spoilt for choice with many quality restaurants, cafes and caterers of international standing and there is no place for arrogant, defensive behavior whilst a guest in Devonport, New Zealand.
