Service was friendly and nice play area for kids but the kids meals were pricey for what they were. The nuggets were $14 or so and basically like McDonald's nuggets meat mush inside and the ham and cheese toastie had some really gross looking processed ham. Kids fish and chips was better but only one small piece of fish. Overall underwhelming options given the kids play area suggests a focus on children. The play area and the seating and tables all seem to be a little worn and need updating. Still, had a nice time and a nice spot close to the playground if you have little ones.
The fried chicken inside the chicken waffle is so juicy and full of flavour best chicken I have had in a while. Coffee is also good
Walked past this cafe and was happy to see a kids area, it's a lovely cafe with very friendly staff. Great place for a tea and slice
What was a Devonport go to fave today delivered a very overpriced, sad and utterly inedible “vegan” salad . The once lovingly selected produce ended up as a bowl of wilted Spinach, a whole head of Cauliflower, once vibrant and crunchy “prepared” so it was sad, limp & droopy I felt sorry for it! with a few random Chickpeas, slivers of onion topped with half a cherry tomato all drowned in chilly oil, pepper & chilly flakes yuk!. Ended up leaving 95% of this inedible dish & went next door for fresh & delicious Sushi that cost less. This deserved a no star rating. Truly awful
Been coming here for over 6 years - every-time I visit from the UK, and it never fails to disappoint!
I must highly recommend this coffee shop. Coffee is really delicious it is one of the best coffee I have ever had, also the food tastes good.
The place has the vibe of a fancy Mr Bun. Quaint decorations, and a toy area at the back for young kids. We came here with my dad and primary aged kids. The food was great-better than we expected! I had the brunch roll and the egg was nice and runny and the whole bun was very yum. We got hot chips and they were great and flavoursome too. All the other food we got was yum too. The flat white was great drunk by a fussy Wellingtonian. I only took one star off as the bathroom was a bit dirty. Otherwise we were pleasently surprised and would definitely come again.
Food here is good and coffee not that good. Service is very good. Presentation is below what you would expect for the very high prices being charged. Not good value, as such unable to recommend.
The name catchy, the space is great, the menu has lots of variety, the food is good and there's coffee! There's not much else you can ask for. The child's play area was the overall winner for us, with a fantastic space with lots of fun toys. Over our short trip to Devonport we came here twice, we had items off the menu and out of the cabinet and they all tasted great. My husband said the pies were incredible! I like the assortment of indoor plants and art work.. it could be tied togethet with slightly more unique furniture, or maybe just a bit of a spruce up.. but all in all its a fantastic place with seating options to suit every kind of customer. Staff are also really friendly... And free slice with coffee too!
It’s Good Friday 2023. Most of the cafes that are open in Devonport are full and buzzing. We chose here because it was lovely outside in the sun and we now know why it isn’t being patronised like other cafes. My husband had whitebait scramble on burnt toast and said he’d rate it a one. I had the eggs Benedict on potato roti with mushrooms and spinach. It was okay but greasy with packet hollandaise. Tables weren’t cleared, no smiles and no service. Highly disappointing when paying a 15% surcharge. I’ve said I would never come back before but did and maybe I’ll come again but unlikely.
