Location is pretty good. Close to the major sites and there is a big car behind the hostel.nThe entire hostel is like an old mansion, which means it’s beautiful but very old. The facilities and rooms are pretty clean, but there are no curtains for the beds, and no charging place besides beds. Also there is a weird smell in the room, although I’m not sure if it’s from the room or one of the guests.
We felt unsafe here as there are very few safety measures and there is little to no staff supervision of who enters the premises. A non-guest cornered us in the living space when we arrived causing a very uncomfortable interaction. The bathrooms are fairly nice though.
I got a room without a Door handle from inside. There is no tea in kitchen and it was cold in room.nFrom good aspects this place has unic furniture and nice kitchens. Big ones.
Yeah it’s pretty sad such a glorious building has been left in such a state of disrepair. It has an eery atmosphere - no staff are present and the guests are left on their to work out what is going on. I’m glad I only stayed two nights.
Worst backpackers I've ever stayed at in my life and I've stayed in ones all over the world.nThe room stinks a damp, musty smell which smells like grandma's closet. The carpet is from the 1960s and badly needs replacing and everytime you shut the door it's like the window is going to fall out.Oh and on top of that there is a SHEET for a curtain.Toilets are not advertised as male or female and there is a lot of confusion around that.nUnbelievably bad it shouldn't even be open.nThey also say no check-ins from 9pm so other guests are disrupted but that clearly wasn't the case when I was staying.nDo yourself a favour and stay at the other backpackers.nI left at 11.30pm at night because it was so bad and I couldn't sleep.nThe only good thing about this place is the location.
