We had one of the cottages and it was a lovely tidy private space. Great to just chill between exploring town. Brent was very helpful and friendly. Lots of space to move around and there are some lovely tables on the grass to relax at. Important to note there are alot of steps or a big ramp and some steps to get into the facility.
If you're looking for a place to call HOME for a couple of days and recharge from traveling, then that's your place to go! The owners Paula and Brett are so kind and lovely, their positive energy reflects in the space they've created. I came to stay for a bit, ended up living and working there for 7 weeks and can recommend it a lot! It's a great location, easy parking on the street, they offer a shuttle service to the mountain. I loved chilling out in the sun room or in the garden. And most importantly I've met great people here, including the wonderful staff!
Very lovely place with so many beautiful details. A very nice welcome with a big smile and the fanciest campground ever.nFor sure, next time in New Plymouth we will again choose Dugs&Drakes.
Basic room, hot shower, a decent kitchen and dining space so worth the cash we paid.nnOnly one minor downside was being able to hear banging sounds on the wall behind our heads and someone’s TV in the evening.nnHost was lovely and gave off good vibes. Kindly explained how to lock the bedroom door.nnGladly recommend for people passing through looking for a bit of a refresh.
Claims “boutique” but is just old.nnUncomfortable bed, cold room with glitchy heater, cold customer service, and the bright colours that attracted us from the photos were just mismatched and cheap.nnIt’s probably a great backpackers but it’s a 2 star motel.
