Arrived and was greeted by the most lovely staff, I was in a mixed room and really enjoyed it I found the bed extremely comfortable, shower and toilet in each room. I didn’t use the kitchen but great to know if I needed anything it was there. Was a great comfy environment and I would definitely go back. I did go on a Saturday night so expect some noise as there is a pub down stairs but it wasn’t too bad. Great location.
The friendly attitude of the staff reminds me of the comfort of coming home. Laundry was free, each room had a bathroom, and everything was satisfying. Only two complaints are that my bed was a little small because I was tall, and why don't you hang a Korean flag??
We stayed at Ariki for just under 2 months in one of the double rooms. It was a fantastic stay. The kitchen and bathrooms were cleaned daily no bugs in sight, even in summer!. Duvets are changed between every guest. It’s a backpacker— it isn’t going to be pristine, but it’s a cheap and homely stay. There is a really chill vibe to the place that makes it feel like home. Some weekends get a bit loud, but in our experience/in our room the sound dies down around midnight, which worked well with our schedule. I can count the number of nights that noise was an actual problem on one hand, and earbuds helped with that. The location is mint, right next to everything you’d want and a ten-fifteen minute walk to the grocery. The library is right next door. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this backpacker!
Great location, right where you want to be, nice and central. Rooms are good and price is reasonable. But the highlight is that this hostel has a very cool vibe. Everybody here is super friendly, staff and fellow backpackers. You meet new people and have some real good chats and laughs. Was given lots of tips and advice on places to see, etc. You can rent a bike for $10 a day and explore the city which was awesome. I would have liked to stay longer but sadly ran out of time.
This hostel disappointingly fell short in cleanliness, notably the kitchen area which was filthy. Additionally, the fridge space was monopolized by permanent residents, leaving no room for guests' belongings. The rooms harbored persistent dirt, detracting from the overall comfort and hygiene of the stay.nnWe moved out after the first night.
