Discovery Settlers Hotel

As soon as I arrived I was welcomed by super friendly staff. Checked me in gave me and info and run down of facilities. She even carried my very heavy bag upstairs! I felt safe and looked after during my week. Each night in restaurant I was waited on. Amazing customer service you should be proud. Over and above.Rooms: 4/5

Attended a function with 70 people present. The food was great and hotel and restaurant staff were polite and efficient. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We use Settlers 3 or 4 times a year and always walk away happy.Rooms: 4/5

Great service, food was excellent and value for money was right on. Clean rooms with plenty of towels, soap etc. Definitely try and stay here again. Thanks team for make two wet travelers welcome as a last minute check in.Rooms: 5/5

Really nice room, very clean, friendly vibe. Avoid the breakfast unless you are in before probably 8Am. Got there at 9 obviously far too late. Everything the last scraps or finished. Should have checked how much were absolutely shocked it was $25 a head. Left a bad taste. Really spoiled a lovely hotel stay, which I would have rated as 5 stars for the room.

We stayed here at the end of April for 3 nights. The service was great, the staff were very friendly, the food was excellent and our room was lovely and clean and quiet. Our only complaint is that we had a mobility suite and while there was a safety bar by the toilet there weren't any in the shower. I have trouble with my balance and need something to hold onto. I was unable to use the shower which looked really good. We did mention it when we checked out and hopefully something can be done about it.

I stay here alot and keep coming back simply because the staff are fantastic. Pal is amazing, everytime I arrive she greets me by name and somehow remembers my beer and dinner order. Having a resturant onsite is great and convenient, the food is good and just what you need after a long day. The rooms are tidy and clean but could do with more routine maintenance, Also a heat pump would be ideal.

Great service, central and handy location. Having a restaurant on site is great and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We've already booked another stay Rooms: 5/5

Dated but OK. Few things needed fixing in rooms. Eg toilet seat not screwed on. TV remotes not work even with new batteries. Rooms have low/dim lights so not so good if u like bright lights to read if not in bed. No room service at all during your stay at this stage. Only give u towels in a bag outside, no refills of anything else, Eg coffee sugar. Restaurant was nice an chefs happt.an the hostess was smiley But they automatically put meals on to Yr credit card which was a pain as I didn't want to pay that way. But it had already gone thru by time we had finished an went to pay,.

Discovery Settlers Whangarei gets one star for location and one star for friendly staff but thats where the compliments end. Unfortunately the room we had was dirty, stained bed covers, blocked shower drain and rubbish left from the previous occupant. We dont mind tired looking rooms, but only if they are clean. For $182 p/n this was not value for money. Will not be staying again.

Great accommodation with plenty of parking spaces, large rooms and beautiful food. Staff were super friendly
