Yeah it's a supermarket, like any other. Lots of room to move here I do have to say. Wide aisles. Shelves well stocked unlike invercargill store. Service and prices the same.
Was a nice shopping experience, some good deals going on and I recommend getting a birthday cake from here. I got the rainbow birthday cake and it was so flavourful, moist and refreshing. Wasn't any large queues to get served. Only wee thing that bugged me was when a product had no code and they asked me how much it was and I said can they not just search the item up for pricing, which eventually got done by another employee. Guess they learnt something new during my visit.
I went to this supermarket tonight . i bring my bag with me as always instead to leave my bag in my car because it’s Saturday night for safety, I was told that they gonna check inside my bag after pay my shopping. This is very awkward and annoying because They can check or they should check this by the camera and not treat badly customers like this in front of other customers I also understand that shoplifters have to be caugh but it is not my case and im not like that It is embarassing when somebody asks to do this procedure in front of other customers. you guys should train your staff to achieve excellence in customer service!!!!!
Count down is so handy for me as I live just around the corner, however Countdown is my 2nd choice to do my shopping if my fuel is to low to shop at pak n save. IV never had a bad experience at count down so I really can't comment on anything. Inside chemist is also available to get ur persercriptions or any medical supplies.
Standard Countdown. Classic items you can find somewhere else but a bit more expensive, like any other Countdown. What it is good at, the imported food. Especially Italian pasta and tomato sauce. You can find good deals if you have the One Card. Also the meat is above local standards. Overall fine, you just need to know what you are after.
It's Countdown! Sometimes they have great specials, sometimes they don't. Would love to see the use of less plastic in their products, but overall they're doing pretty good compared to other supermarkets. If you have the time and energy to go somewhere cheaper though, I'd suggest crossing the road to go to chinatown if it's still daytime. Otherwise, this is the place to go for your early morning or late night shopping, or doing shopping while using their free-script pharmacy.
Worst supermarket for false advertising and overcharging. Bought a Culleys sauce that was advertised at $2.50 and was charged $7.50. Poor customer service they don't hire enough staff so expect to wait a long time at the checkout.
Half the vegetables I wanted weren't in stock. Most things were even more expensive than new world. Fish and deli both closed in the afternoon.
Can't understand why people shop here. If you go to New World around the corner prices are much cheaper and you get your groceries packed.
