The checkout staff are always incredibly rude here. There are also people asking for money outside the front door which is uncomfortable. Do yourself a favour and hit up new world instead. It costs the same, a bigger range and really good customer service. Or Countdown could give their unhappy workers a pay rise.
I accidentally ordered my online shopping from here when I usually get it from Eastgate. I found the staff to be quite abrupt and borderline passive-aggressive. Even though I had the text to say that my groceries were ready, they weren't. A little wait isn't a huge problem though. The layout of the carpark is difficult for someone with mobility issues. Not everyone with issues has a mobility card. I almost ran out of steam getting back to the car. I'm not able to return to this store but its perfectly fine for anyone who's fully able bodied
The last time I will be shopping at Countdown Colombo, it has been my local for years but the checkout staff are just so rude and obnoxious. Besides the man with glasses and the older lady that work in the checkout, the rest are awful. Rolling your eyes if you ask for help or make a mistake. It is pathetic, maybe don't work in a customer-facing role if you hate it so much?
The staff are just awful. They are rude, sour faced, scruffy & completely unapproachable. I used to pop in for the odd item but shall do so no longer. This certainly seems to be the case with many people whom have voiced the same comments to me. Its disgraceful & unprofessional. Prices are way to high in comparison to other supermarkets.
The lady who was near the counter with long hair was very rude. I was there to collect the bricks packs, and she was impolite and impatient, didn’t really provide me a clear direction of where to go. And her face looked super annoyed, kept asking me where I came from. This is the first time that I’ve ever encountered this issue, really had a bad experience today.
Why are all the shelves Bare? Like they're are going broke and can't afford stock. The team clearly aren't happy in their work, I feel like I'm being a hassle if I want a Lotto ticket. Really really really badly run store.
I've never been here, but google keeps telling me to review it. I'm sure it offers an adequate Countdown experience, if not, go up the road to the other one. Update: Adequate Countdown experience experienced. Looks like it could do with an update though, it could quite possibly be the very first Countdown built its so old, but what's the old saying? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
I was there this morning to query my purchase on 20th June, 2022, as soon as i got there holding my receipt, the supervisors or team leader were looking at me with a sour face, I told them that the reason i purchased the item is because they were on sale, they pointed me to three different people and in the end back to the big lady that first entertain me. She has a sour face, you can tell that she is not happy, or not in the mood to deal with a customer query, maybe because she got interrupted from talking to other lady, she shouldn't be in customer service, they were so rude to me except for the older lady that told them to give me the refund. Their attitude made me so angry to them, the big lady said she did not want to deal with me so i said the same to her and she walked away, how rude. Your people are not happy there, expecially the customer service, they should find another job. I shop there for convenience, if I can avoid it I won't shop there anymore, i always shop at Fresh Choice Barrington and I don't have a problem with them, they are so nice, but Countdown Colombo, sour faces customer service 14/10/2022 Rude, sour face and disrespectful employees. Not happy with your job, get out and find another
Old style countdown with parking underneath. Had everything I needed for my shop, just a bit of a dated layout when compared to more modern countdowns
Countdown is Countdown after all. But being close to home i find my self often popping in. The check out operators are a friendly helpful bunch,as is the supervisor.
