Challenge Rafting provides a thrilling whitewater adventure experience, offering rafting options on both the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers.

The Kawarau River offers exhilarating rafting for first timers. The Shotover offers the challenge of extra excitement and thrills. Experience the untamed river and rugged beauty of the Shotover Canyon before conquering the 170-metre Oxenbridge Tunnel to shoot the Cascade Rapid.

No experience is required. Our professional and experienced guides provide instruction and guidance to make your trip even more enjoyable.

All trips include courtesy coach transfers, specialist on-river clothing, safety briefing, professional guides and sauna and hot shower after your raft trip.

Definitely recommend this team if you want to go white water rafting in Queenstown. We did the Shotover River Grade 3-5 one and we had a fabulous time. Our guide Riley ensured we had a fun experience whilst keep us safe and in the raft. It was interesting to learn about the river and it's history whilst going down those rapids. Would love to do this activity again! Good fitness is recommended, definitely tired by the end of it.
I was extremely nervous as I have never rafted before and I am not a confident swimmer. Our instructor Guy was very kind and I felt in safe hands. I felt it was appropriately pitched for a nervous person/ beginner to rafting. I really enjoyed the experience and would recommend the grade 2-3 to nervous people!
It was an amazing experience! I would definitely recommend to try it out in Queenstown with Challenge Rafting! The team, Jess Morgan and Will, made it super comfortable and exciting. They knew what they were doing. Did the grade 2-3 level and it was a great way to start off! The team have plenty of chances to swim/float around. Overall, definitely would recommend to do it here in Queenstown
Bus drive to put in is Scenic and adventurous. Rapids are large and in a Scenic inaccessible canyon. They do not take enough photos of the trip. They don't allow gopro cameras on the trip, making it difficult to document the experience. Largest reason for the 4 stars. Safety protocols are superior and they make every effort to keep you safe. Can't add photos to this review because they don't allow them during the float.
Absolutely stunning day out with challenge rafting. The guides and staff were friendly, hilarious and knowledgeable. The trip was a mix of scenic views, fun raft games and three rapids that got the heart racing. Highly recommend whether you’ve been before or not. Thanks again - type 1 fun!!
Couldn’t recommend more. We had John Bishop lookalike KC as our guide and he was excellent. Whole trip from start to finish was well good. The other two guides on our trip were also really helpful and entertaining
Just an amazing experience with a really professional outfit. Raju was awesome. You could tell he knew the river in every detail and was such a knowledgeable guide that we felt safe to really enjoy the ride. Everyone was so friendly, and including photos in the package rather than charging extra was a nice touch. If you want to raft the Shotover, go with these guys!
Absolutely loved the rafting experience. Morgan our guide was a legend and got us safely through all rapids. Amazing canyon with high adrenaline rapids. Get into it!
Dreadful. Twice in 2years booked our NZ trip based around this mobs rafting dates only to be told they've cancelled our day due to short staff. The kicker is we physically rang them both times to just enquire about any possible foreseeable problems only to be vigorously assured to go ahead and book away. Less than 0 customer service or concern. Not good enough, would give 0 stars if possible
Unfortunately our white water rafting was cancelled the morning of. We were told to meet just before 8 for our lift to the location, but upon our arrival we were told that it was cancelled. The reason we were given was that only 7 people booked, but they needed 8. This is fair enough, but there was no effort made to get in contact with me. I have a British number so left them my email to let me know of any changes but they did not email and instead waited to tell us until we turned up. Disappointing as it wasted a morning of our trip.
