It's been a few years since I've been to the speedway in Palmy Nth. While I was visiting the area for a sports event, I had time to come out and watch the opening night of the season. I brought along a visitor from England who loves speedway and a French friend who had never witnessed speedway as we know it. We all loved it and it was a great night, finished off with fireworks which my French friend thought was just for him! lost in translation, his English wasn't great!
Recommend going at least once if you haven't been before, preferably on a special event night eg with fireworks or a demolition derby. Bring extra clothing for when the night cools down, and a home packed lunch as commercial food packaging will not be allowed in the venue and food sold here is over priced + lines can be very long. Bring earmuffs for the children as it can be very loud, and a pair of sun glasses may come in handy for flying dirt!
Weather was a bit off for the Phoenix game and had to view through stockcar safety wire but understand too hard to take down and put back up.
Great size to hold any event went to juicy feast event gates open up at 1:30pm apparently the line was all ready massive just by what a cousin mention before I arrived about 4pm. I all ways go everywhere in my car I manager to get me a car park right outside the event I reckon that was luck but there is plenty of packing space walking distance from the event.
Awesome place kids loved it and the fireworks where spectacular
Great venue for superstock teams champs!
Went to my nieces birthday at the roller rink here and really enjoyed myself can hire it out and the staff are helpful and polite
It is spacious and well designed. We went there for the Homes show. For bigger exhibitions parking can become tricky. In winters it can be cold and chilly. Bring a jacket because you might have to walk a bit to reach the gate
I attended the Brick Show. Manawatu came inside with a large model of the wind turbines and the Feilding clock tower. There was a COVID-19 tracer QR Code to scan on the door. Those taking the money at the entrance to the hall were friendly and attentive. The rooms looked clean and spacious. The walls were decorated with Lego posters and banners which looked good. The tables had been laid out with plenty of room for visitors to move around. The toilets were clean but not very private with cubicle doors a step away from the foyer door. There was no soap or towels in the disabled cubicle.
Spent an absolutely great night with family at the NZ, USA, and England super stock and super saloons championship races. Great venue. Reasonable prices. Excellent place to visit.
