This is a awesome spot in Palmy with numerous things to do. For families there is a playground, splash pool and the esplanade scenic train. I recommend making sure you check out the wild base recovery centre as well to see and learn more about native birds.
Even in winter a walk through the Esplanade is bliss. Not sure if the Roosters are part of the displays at Wildbase but they sure look good.
Lots of fun things to do liked the restaurant train rides where fantastic
Make sure you head to the Wildbase recovery centre. They’re doing some great things in support with Massey University. You’ll also be able to see at the centre tuatara and native birds.
Be sure to visit the Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery! A recovery & rehab for native birds, one of the enclosures homes a pair of kaka and kukupa. The rehab patients roll in and out based on their health and you'll never know who you're going to see.
Defs worth a visit...love this place! Enjoy the train during the school holidays...most of these pics are from the rose garden part
A really beautiful park right by city centre with so many different areas to enjoy-from bush walk, river walk, rose garden, kids playgrounds and Cafe Esplanade.
Just an awesome place. Visited several times
Plenty of things to do and see, well maintained and great way to spend some time outdoors.
