What can I say, chutney leaves and chilli leaves and chilli sticks are fantastic, I send them down to wellington for my daughter as they are the best around, prices are very reasonable, staff are fantastic and nothing is to much trouble for them, always happy and very polite, even when rushed off there feet. I am English and love the place, only problem is when I start eating my chutney leaves with chilli spice the staff are happy to put on for me can't stop eating. fantastic place, if you have never been in trust me well worth a visit, update just been back for my weekly fix, 22 Nov shop busy as always, 3 young ladies running the shop . very polite, curtious and professional a real credit. happy to help with my request. Lots of parking on site. Very helpful and friendly staff.nGreat options of food. Canned and bottled, plus fresh, chilled meats and of course the dried meats.nSliced to order which is wonderful.nCan even order online and have shipped nationwide!!!

This has got to be one of my favourite places to stop on our way through to Whakatane. The biltong is the best I've had so far. Amazing service also.

This is a word of advice to anyone who is allergic to or does not want to consume MSG Monosodium Glutamate also called Flavour Enhancer 621nnI recently purchased boerewors, biltong and beef patties from Boerewors NZ's Tauriko shop. At the point of purchase, I did not adequately read the ingredients, and it was only when I got home and later studied the packets that I discovered that all the products that I had purchased contained MSG.nnFor people who have heart conditions like myself, MSG is very bad for us. Yes - I did not read the packet, BUT I would like to see more prominent advisory notices to customers that Boerewors NZ uses MSG in their products because there are a LOT of us out here with heart conditions.
