I am genuinely astonished at how poor the standards have become at Woolworths Bethlehem. The store consistently fails in three key areas, product availability, presentation, and customer service.nnThe most surprising part was seeing the delicatessen counter at around 4pm looking as though the store was either about to close for the night or had only just opened in the morning. The cooked meat selection was almost non-existent, and unfortunately this poor availability seems to extend across much of the store. Shelves are often lacking stock, aisles are untidy, and overall the store simply does not feel well managed.nnCustomer service was equally disappointing. On my last visit I found headache tablets left behind in an empty trolley. Trying to do the right thing, I waited at the customer service desk to hand them in so hopefully the customer who had paid for them could get them back. When it was finally my turn, the staff member serving looked utterly miserable and barely acknowledged me. There was no thank you, no appreciation, just an attitude that suggested I was inconveniencing her. Frankly, she looked like she needed the headache tablets more than the customer who lost them.nnThis store is in a beautiful location and serves a great community, yet the standards are far below what should be expected from a Woolworths supermarket. Senior management seriously need to pull their finger out and address the declining standards before more customers simply give up shopping there.
We were kindly given a voucher by a friend. My wife visited around 11am last Thursday, 2 checkouts were open. Unfortunately she queued and put her goods on they conveyor without noticing the closed sign had been put out as it was side on. The operator tho didn't stop her doing this, so when she had finished serving the first customer told my wife quite sternly it was closed and she had to remove the goods. She then proceeded to join the queue at the only other checkout that was open. Yes she made a mistake but didnt need the grumpy reaction. Surely 11am on a weekday only 1 checkout being available can't be right.
I'm not quite sure what's going on at Bethlehem Woolworths - my local. The last few online orders I've made have had items 'out of stock' and no substitutions offered. Yet when I physically go inside to pick a substitution, I not only see ample replacements, but the actual thing I wanted in the first place. I've just made an order today and my invoice says there are 31 yes, 31 items Out of Stock. Ha. They are all very common things. I rang but was told someone would have to ring me back because noone was around to confirm. Then someone rang me back to tell me someone there was at fault but I'd have to make another order to pick up the missing items. I said that wasn't ideal so yet again, I am waiting for somwone tonrong me back. This is all at 5.30pm... right on dinner. Bethlehem Woolworths... sort it out. You make far too much money to operate like this.
Some of the older Staff there is extremely unfriendly and this really affects the vibe of this store. Everytime I shop there they come across grumpy and as if they don´t want to be there. You almost feel sorry that you shop at their shop and be an inconvenience to them because then they have to work. They are also rude to the younger staff telling them off in front of customers. If you get there in the late afternoon most things will be sold out, like fresh veggies and fruit or organic milk. Considering the stores trading hours that´s not very good. Looking forward to see more friendly faces at this store in the future.
I really enjoyed going into this Woolworths, I'm from a small city so it's always interesting to go to the bigger supermarkets. The variety of meat and produce that you have faster passes anything the smaller cities get
