Hi my name is David and I am BHB Fitness.
I am a fully certified Personal Trainer (Cert in Advanced Personal Training) that operates independently of gyms or organisations. I specialise in lifestyle fitness, balancing life and diet to achieve weight loss goals through functional fitness and real world movement exercises.
My strengths and experience include group training, running and triathlon multi-sports. I am able to delivery group sessions from 2 to 200 people, plus I can provide extensive training programs for running and multisport with or without weekly coaching.
I am a real world coach having traveled my own journey from zero to where I am today. In October 2010 I had an awakening at 22:30 I got up off the lounge went outside and smoked my last cigarette. I started running, slowly and over short distances but I was running. I had ignored my health most of my adult life, lived fast, drank heavy and ate without thought. I was on a fast track to a heart attack or worse. I had lost three grandparents to heart disease so it was time to wake up and make changes.
My enthusiasm and enjoyment of exercise continues to grow daily. I started Rotorua Group Challenge a community group a couple of years ago that operates 12 week weight loss challenges where anyone 17 and over can participate in structured training for $20. The challenges offer structured and guided training to people who would never step into a gym for many reasons yet thrive in group sessions. The training is body weight and cardio orientated and designed to motivate and educate people on making better lifestyle choices and staying active. We have had huge success in this group with winners losing 10-14% of their body weight in 12 weeks and many competitors continuing with multiple challenges over the years.
