Bella Vista Motel, Franz Josef Glacier

The property was well located near the glacier. It provided all the required amenities and the staff were very kind and helpful with recommendations. It is not a fancy place, but is clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.Rooms: 5/5

Lovely couple greeted on check in. Informative and friendly. Room very clean, smelled nice. Wouldn't stay again as the room was extremely noisy could hear everytime a neighbour flushed the toilet, had a shower or ran a tap. Could hear them talking and even peeing into the toilet! Not restful at all. Walkability: Close to all eateries

Check-in was super smooth and quick. The fellow at reception was very personable. The hotel was well maintained and clean. Room was comfortable and cozy, good heating overnight. Kitchenette was well stocked and had everything needed, though we didn’t cook there. Everything was good, would recommend. Great walkable location too.Rooms: 4/5

We really enjoyed our stay at Bella Vista Motel in Franz Josef. Staff are very friendly, informative and helpful. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Very quiet at night for a good sleep. Super central to shops and restaurants. Free parking on-site. You are offered complimentary bottles of water and milk upon arrival which we felt was a nice touch. Would recommend staying here!

Room was clean and had all the basic necessities we needed. Great water pressure for showering and loved the electric blankets for those chilly evenings and early mornings. Hotel also had washer & dryer which was super helpful to know we could do laundry if needed. Jim, the host of Bella Vista Franz Josef, was amazingly helpful and friendly. He answered all our questions from where to go eat, how to get around town and where to get the best views of Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. Rooms: Clean rooms Nearby activities: Close to Franz Josef Glacier, and nearby Fox Glacier Walkability: Super easy to walk around town and next to the best restaurant in town.

My husband and I had a 2 night stay at the Bella Vista Motel Franz Josef Glacier. We felt very comfortable. The room was not large, but had everything you need: a very comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom and a small kitchenette with a microwave, a refrigerator and a kettle. By the way, the coffee was very tasty. In addition, everything could be easily reached on foot. Everything was nearby. Otherwise the room was very clean, tidy and quiet. We were able to recover very well. We also washed our laundry on site and were able to hang it up to dry in the backyard. A young man and a young woman worked at the reception who did everything to make us feel very comfortable. They were very friendly and welcoming and helped us with anything we needed. If there were 10 stars, we would definitely rate them in our review. Thank you for the great hospitality. We wish you all the best and many nice guests in the future.

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Bella Vista last month, the room was well presented, very clean with an extremely comfortable bed, so cosy and warm! The location was just great! in a quiet and peaceful setting. The manager was so helpful with information about visiting the local attractions, they keep a lovely place & we would love to stay next time we visit NZ. Regards, Karen & Geoff.

Great location, walking distance to town and shops. Very clean and tidy room and motel. Room and bed is comfy, shower is hot and good pressure and reasonable cost for washer and dryer. Owners and staff are polite and engaging. Pic is outside motel entrance. Rooms: Small but very comfortable. Nearby activities: Walking distance to booking offices for most activities. Short drive to some walking tracks but worth it. Safety: Felt safe in this town. Walkability: Park and walk everywhere. Food & drinks: A number of restaurants within walking distance.

Great location to walks and main shops in Franz Josef. Tidy, clean rooms with basic amenities. All we needed for our 2 night stay. Would highly recommend this accommodation.Rooms: 5/5
