Bazil's Backpackers Hostel

Highly recommend a stay at Bazil's if passing through Westport! It has such a friendly, welcoming, chill vibe, with lots of cool little areas to hang out. Ray and Steve the owners are both awesome and full of ideas for fun things to do in the area - namely surfing! I'd love to go back!

Really recommend this hostel. If you want to surf you can have a deal for a board and a wetsuit. Good vibes , good kitchen , everyone is friendly there. Ray and Steve are nice

definitely the best place I could stay on the south island. I thought of leaving the place quickly but I can not get away! beautiful, peaceful, the atmosphere is great, the pizzas are even more! great waves, many places to visit as well, Westport and Bazils are my favorite of this island of the south! I will come back for sure!

A cozy, clean hostel with such chill vibes. I would 100% recommend staying here. The staff are friendly and helpful. You’ll feel at home from the moment you arrive and not want to leave. I had such a lovely experience and it’s an amazing place to stay.

Came here for two nights and enjoyed every minute of it! Staff were so welcoming and helpful - lent us bikes for such a reasonable rate and with everything else they were so genuine and lovely. Pizza also delicious and garlic bread best I’ve had all year .

Awesome hostel -- really appreciate the vibes and service from Ray and Steve. The hostel is full of lots of cool places to hang out. Will definitely be going back there soon. I can't recommend it enough.

Great place to stay in Westport. Very friendly welcoming and helpful. Make sure you try their surfing lessons and hire a bike from them to go around town. And don't forget to try those delicious pizzas made by the fantastic owners of the hostel!
