We were just about to book a room online here but booking .com was playing up so I called the hotel direct and tried to book direct with them in the hope of helping their bottom line,. The rather unhelpful argumentation receptionist argues that there was no way we would have been able to book a room at the rate quoted. I took a photo and even posted to her to show her. Booking .com was quoting $127 as shown in photo but hotel insisted best rate $134. No idea why booking .com tried to finish purchase at higher the posed rate but Id have thought the lodge would rather the guest than notnnWe were going to stay and dine in house but now will take our business elsewhere. I hope management are happy with this staff members attitude in a recession. Well done you.

I stayed two blissful nights in the pet friendly room allocated. I have a tiny toy dog and it's difficult at peak holidays to find accommodation that doesn't slap on a ban for pets during the 'SILLY SEASON'.nThe staff are the heros of the Lodge, both at reception and at Juliana's the on-site restaurant. ALL of the staff are friendly, polite, helpful &they go above and beyond the call of duty to hunt for anything you might need... Like a cellphone/notepad charger etcnI booked for x2 nights, but tried to extend my stay & found that they were fully booked. Not surprisingly, they seemed quiet because of the layout, but the housekeeping staff were very busy, very careful & very thorough... Please leave them a tip in the room, I forgot cash :'nThere's an indoor pool open until 9:30pm, and a spa too, maybe a sauna... I will definitely stay again and use the pool facilities during a longer stay.nGREAT CENTRAL LOCATION, 5mins drive from the boardwalk, from the gallery, from Pukekura Park and The Festival of Lights, and from The Bowl of Brooklands venue...nMAGIC!!

Spacious, clean rooms bit dated. No smart TV in room. They have nice swimming and spa. Lots of parking. Great location.

I give you 4.5, very pleasant place to stay with in house bar and restaurant. Like the idea of incorporating breakfast into our price. Our dinner was very good with enough choices for all. There was a little too much rocket lettuce covering my crumbed chicken, but we'll presented.

Lots of parking throughout the property to accomodate the number of rooms. Our room 4 people had two plug in heaters plus electric blankets in the back room to ensure no one was cold. Our bathroom was stunning bathroom however didn’t have a fan so it got very steamy after one use. The bedding was comfy and blankets were very warm, not to mention there were 2x tv screens!
