Auckland Normal Intermediate

Okay I’ll be honest here, why do people hate this school? Sure, it can be terrible sometimes. In my time though? This was better than my primary school. The teachers were awesome and really helpful, and I felt like I was actually learning things. They catered to our needs and gave us SO many opportunities. They take time out of their schedules to take us outside of school to have fun, and have leadership opportunities too. I don’t get why people hate the school so much. And they did prepare me for highschool. Now that I’m in highschool I feel genuinely prepared.

I don't know why my school's star rating is 2.2. Honestly, my school is a pretty good school, it has good subjects, activities, and many interesting things and teachers are very nice, not biased like in reviews I've read. Maths in my school are pretty easy to me, I don't know if maths are the same as in nz year 4 because I didn't study year 4 in nz, I studied in my country until 2023, and this school teaching the same things that I studied, but there are still some new things. And in my school there are lots of interesting things like inquiry, market day, exhibition,.... But I have to admit that my school has problems like every educational building, like everything in this world, like some reviews said about money.nIn overview, although my school still has problems, it still has many good sides. In my opinion, I highly recommend this school, because it's a pretty good schoolnnUpdate, 22/March/2025: Now, I graduated from ANI, just spent a little time writing this review before going back to the busy days of high school. So, ANI did teach me trigonometry, simultaneous, algebra, and non-verbal reasoning things, which is very useful for me in high school, also about the Polynesian migration lessons are useful in social studies at high school, and the essay structure lessons, sciences, and hard and soft tech are useful, too. I'm, now, an EGGS student, I don't know about AGS or MAGS, but they really prepared for me for EGGS.nTo be honest, learning at ANI is pretty good, although it's maybe just my opinion, but I mean, ANI is not a very bad school, trust me, if you have a different perspective, I certainly respect it.nThis is the final update of my review about ANI, so, hope you find it useful. As a former student here, the school is absolute garbage. For starters, the extra curricular activities ARE good but that’s as far as it goes. The IB curriculum is honestly, a joke and should probably just go away for good as in year 8, I was learning negative and positive numbers and counting on the number line mind you this is a IB, year 8 classroom., which is just stupid and ridiculous. This did NOT prepare me for high school and made me probably drop a few as I was always fed like year 6 knowledge at this school. The school is so desperate for attention and reviews that the principal literally 5 starred this without any explanation. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE! THEY WILL FAIL LITERALLY EVERYTHING AND GET DUMBER!

I don't know why but if you haven't noticed yet this school has been deleting the bad comments slowly to not create attention and not make the school look bad but it is. In fact they have also been deleting my comments. The teachers are really bad especially the teacher in room 9 in 2024. She constantly targets people and think they are bad people. She obviously treats people differently and is very biased. She was the worst teacher I ever had. DONT GO HERE

Year 7 was pretty decent thanks to Mr Fenner, but the IB Curriculum is a absolute joke? My Year 8 teacher was rude, biased and didn't even teach us anything. For year 7, I highly recomend. The sport activites are very good, the year 8 teacher isn't a very good teacher.
