It’s an older fairly basic motel, but clean and tidy.nExcellent location, easy walk to the centre of town.nA bit noisy as no sound insulation and a little traffic noise, but not enough to keep me awake.nBeds were reasonably comfortable, we stopped for 1 night after driving the Forgotten Highway, it’s probably a good option if you’re doing something similar and want a reasonably priced bed for the night.nNote: it’s just around the corner from the excellent Jasmine Thai restaurant, this restaurant has great food.
We stayed here after visiting Taranaki and Tawhai Falls, and it was great; nothing super fancy but as advertised and it did the job. It's in a small town and a lot of places close early, in case you plan to arrive later in the day. We had accidentally left something behind, and didn't notice until we had gotten too far to go back for it. Steven and Andrea were super helpful and responsive when we reached out, and they were able to get it shipped to us internationally which requires a bit of effort on their end but is extremely appreciated on ours. Overall it was a good experience staying here, and we'd likely stay here again next time we're in the area.
The customer service I received was some of the best that I have ever had - and I travel a lot. For the first point of contact when I nervously arrived in Taumarunui for the first time for work - the receptionist manager was super friendly, interested in who I was / why I was there etc, helped me find the perfect place for dinner the Thai restaurant does not take credit card but was extra delicious and made me feel valued. As a woman who travels alone for work a lot, it is often quite scary travelling to new towns. This hotel made me feel at home and safe. Thank you so much. The room was clean, and warm and had everything I needed. So nice to be off the main road away from traffic noise also.
Solid quality motel, Rooms have everything you need. Clean and tidy, maybe a little small, but great ergonomicsnSurprise addition was an airfyer in the room
