We have eaten at Cafe 23 fairly regularly over the last 3 years. We have seen changes to the menu, venue & staff. The portion size and Quality of the food is most often than not of high quality and value for money. It can be extremely busy but certainly is worth the wait. They are one of the few cafes in the area that are patient and understanding of young children and has never been an issue taking our son in there. Like any restaurant it has its busy periods and also days where staff tend to be off again however you cannot hold that against the overall quality and feel of the cafe. The owners are hands on working front of house, coffee machine and most importantly in the kitchen. The food is fresh and varied. Whilst everything may not be to personal preference (I hate ice in my ice coffee) there has never been an issue request in an addition or slight change to menu item! I am amazed to read some reviews that have stated that staff are cold or rude because I have never honestly seen this nor experience this. I think it is more in this day and age people expecting the world and forgetting that we are all human, have bad days and also have to deal with customers who think they are entitled. Having worked in this industry when I was younger can be brutal and people extremely rude and demanding. I think the staff do a great job, they all very community and family orientated.. I love the new revamp and look, and I look forward to finding out what glorious coffee I am going to be served! The only times I have ever seen a cafe not clearing tables quickly is on public holidays or mother’s Day which is to be expected! The telling tile that cafe 23 is amazing is the huge array of regular customers which is a sign of any fantastic business!

I have been to 23 Cafe Restaurant Bar several times now. The food is decent, usually coming in a large portion; and the coffee is also reasonable. However, the staff are often having personal and innapropriate conversations whilst customers are within earshot. A lot of the time the staff are also rude, and seem to think they are better than their customers. Probably wouldn't recommend.

Gr8 food & relief after a hot Summer morning start ova at Donvale. Found it by sheer accident & quite a nice happy one at that 😊

My husband and I went to café 23 in Ringwood north yesterday. We were absolutely appalled at what we saw. The tables weren't cleared, we actually had to go and ask for the menus to order our lunch. One of the staff was writing on the glass cake case instead of attending to customers. Two girls came from behind the counter, one started removing plate and rubbish from the tables, the 2nd girl looked at us sitting and waiting to be served, proceeded to the rear of the shop to pick up spray and cloth to clean tables, us and another 2 women waiting beside us, at this point we waited no longer and left the shop. We feel here that there is a lack of importance on customer service. We wont be back any time soon. As far as we are concerned the rating for this café 23 is 3 Thankyou
