Devine delicious dumplings Excellent dumplings generous amount. Also had stir-fried veg and sizzling prawns both very good. Basic restaurant one of those ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ Food good here fresh and hot. Welcoming staff and I saw a family with kids being helped. Go with confidence if you love dumplings lots of choice. Good for groups and families. Love your local guide - M
Nice restaurant. Hot and sour soup had strong flavour of vinegar I didn’t like it. Rest of the foods were decent. Fast service.
Not the best. We ordered the dry noodles with sauce, it tasted like salty saucy noodles, I couldn't finish it, and vegetarian dumplings which were rubbery, and fried bean curd which was nicely fried. The steamed rice so dry and clumped together, was not good at all. The restaurant also echoey, so it was hard to talk to my friend, even though we were sitting right in front of each other. I don't think I'll revisit anytime soon.
What. A. Feed. A perfect way to end the week, fantastic food, great wine and splendid service. The eggplant hot pot was to die for, but the dumplings were beyond words - an amazing crunch, yet succulent pork - it was a night to remember! Thank you Yat Bun Tong for the great night - I’ll be back!
Came specifically for the Shanghai pan fried pork buns and was not disappointed! The chilli oil should get a special mention because it had enough punch to it with depth in flavour.
What I liked: - Their food was less salty and oily than before which I appreciate - If not for the below I would've given them a 3.5 for decent food. What I didn't like...at all - SERVICE. We ordered plain rice, reminded them 3 times and we finally gave up. They also forgot 1 dish which we cancelled. - I had booking however, we had to wait 10 minutes and for them to rearrange tables, one of them had customers who were already eating... I appreciate them trying to accommodate but I felt pretty awkward... Tip - Do not go there when they are busy as their service goes down. Although the staff were nice, they forgot our dishes and didn't have our booked table ready.
I would give 10 stars if I could, my review on menulog wasn't enough I had to take it to google! The meals are huge, the duck pancakes especially were very generous portions. My food came early, piping hot and absolutely delicious! No doubt about it, this is the last good Asian restaurant in Braddon, and now hands down going to become my go-to choice. It's been so long since I haven't felt a little ripped off by Asian takeaway, tonight Yat Bun Tong has seriously renewed my faith <3 THANK YOU
Decent place for a casual Chinese meal. The dumplings are great and the meals come out pretty quick.
I've been there 3 times now and each visit was amazing. Staff were nice and food was sooooo good, they were all flavoured just the right amount and not too salty. I would definitely visit again and this place is my top 3 go to restaurant in Canberra.
This Chinese restaurant is one of best in Canberra so far. Pretty clean, professional staffs, and most importantly delicious food!! During an Easter long weekend, there was a holiday special charge $3 per personadults for my case and pretty crowded with a number of hungry patrons. Wasabi Beef steak and Eggplant dishes were a bit salty but good combination with steamed rice recommended by one of staffs. Honey friend chicken was tasty as well
