This is a restaurant where you grab a bunch of your mates and head down for a feast. The front of the house staff we friendly, courteous and quick with requests. The place can get a bit rowdy and loud, but if you have any Chinese or Taiwanese friends, you’ll know this is normal. The food came out quick, was a descent price, and had some fantastic flavours. The Fantasy Chicken dish was the best, popping with flavour. The Hainanese Chicken was not very hot and was missing a bit, compared to previous places. All in all, I would recommend trying this place, but bring some friends so you can try more! The menu is massive..

Most authentic Malaysian food in Brisbane. The taste was spot ON Highly recommended. Flavourful food beautifully presented & the staff was attentive. Price was reasonable too, definitely worth a repeat

Great restaurant with delicious food, large portions and at a reasonable price. We ordered the Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Curry Laksa, Marmite Pork and Singapore Noodles. Very yummy and authentic Chinese Malaysian dishes.  Great service where the food came out pretty fast even though the restaurant was full. Friendly and attentive staff.

Finally found an authentic Malaysian restaurant. Ordered a fair few dishes to try and I'm not disappointed. Since I'm a Penangite, being able to try the Har Mee which reminded me so much of home brought so much nostalgia to me. Highly recommend that.  Majority of the food were fantastic. The cendol and ice kacang were great too. Would definitely return to try other dishes.  Would've given 5 stars if not for the following issues:  The Char Koey Teow CKT smelled and tasted good however, the colour is paler than what I remember it should be. Though from looking through the photos in the reviews, seems like it shouldve been darker. Was it because we got the vegetarian version? Surely the dark soya sauce wouldn't need to be omitted from CKT.  I loved the flavour of the fantasy clam however it seems like some of the clams in the dish felt cold? It's like 95% of the clams are piping hot just these few clams felt like they had been left out to cool at room temperature. Wonder what went wrong. Are they pre-cooked and just heated up on request?

15.2.2023 Lunch with Mum and she enjoyed the Penang Har Mee Prawn Noodle. My Combination Curry Laksa looked appetising and was delicious!  3.2.2023 Beautiful restaurant serving authentic Malaysian dishes. We ordered the Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang, Penang Har Mee Prawn Noodle, Char Kuey Teow and Chicken Satay. Service was friendly and fast. # With Paul Chan

First time here at Ya Hoo, as I mostly frequent Market Square in Sunnybank. The food here at Ya Hoo is really good. Comparable to the best at Market Square, very generous in serving sizes and in most cases, also cheaper in price than what you will find in Sunnybank. The staff are attentive and friendly, and service from order to delivery of food to table is fast. There is also a good selection of drinks and desserts not normally found in the best if authentic Malaysian-Chinese restaurants. Well worth a visit and try the food. My recommendations would be the Haninese Chicken and rice, Penang Har Mee & Ice Kachang, accompanied by a Lychee Frappé.

3.75  - came here on a Saturday, super busy although didn't wait too long for a table.  Service was also bit slow. Menu offers a wide variety, would love to come back to try their other dishes. We got the: • Marmite chicken - quite a salty dish but good flavours and enjoyable • Tofu stir fry - can't go wrong with this dish, however has way too much garlic in it

Overall, I enjoyed the cuisines here. Highly recommended Golden chicken, Butter Oat king prawns and Sambal Beef. Those are my favourite cuisines. Good service and good location.Food: 5/5

Yes, we are back again with our friends for the mains. So good.  Ya Hoo has opened in Mt Gravatt! We tried their lunch special, and their services and food were excellent. It has large round tables available for group dining.
