Good place to come in a larger group setting so you can try multiple things. It’s almost like yum cha but not. The vibe of the place was almost like a modern, artsy, alternative white washed “Chinese” bar. There were all these retro posters/artworks on the walls, almost like you were in a London graffiti tunnel. The seats were quite tightly packed in and it was a little difficult to get around! This is a merivale restaurant, so expect merivale prices - the serving sizes were quite small and most dishes were dumplings, so best to come in a group of 4, or multiples of 4. I tried the scallop and prawn shu mai, prawn har gau, wild mushroom dumpling, chicken and chive dumpling, and the cuttlefish fried rice. Apparently the pork xiao long baos were also quite nice, but the steamed buns weren’t popular amongst the group! The staff were super friendly and on it with the water refills and serving speed. The food was good, but serving size relative to price was probably a bit small / expensive particularly the fried rice!
The food portions were so small, I was a bit disappointed- especially for the price you pay. The ambiance was very nice tho and I would potentially come back for drinks! The service was also great.
Very cool bar serving up delicious dumplings and other Chinese classics, and great drinks menu.Food: 4/5
$50 for 4 dumplings and 6 little fried entree pieces. Tasted fine but not worth $50.
The ambient was really good and the food was also really tasty. However the portions were small, mainly considering their price.
Delicious food with a few vegan options! A bit pricey for pretty small portions though and the music was so loud it was hard to talk. But the atmosphere and decor was really nice :
Ridiculously overpriced for the simple ingredients, small portioned dishes. The dj was a cool vibe and the staff were friendly. It's literally a place for drinking and a nibble when you're drunk enough to build an appetite. Not my kinda place.Service: 4/5
Flew into town and checked in to my hotel nearby late and found this place as a late meal option. Cool vibe, delicious, unpretentious food and great drinks. Awesome, hip little spot.
This is definitely worth a visit! Everything we ordered was delicious. The vegetarian dumplings are really unique. The food comes out fast so ideal for a quick lunch. The staff are really friendly. You order on a tablet so it's fast and no waiting around for waiters. It's really expensive for dumplings but worth the experience.
Super small portions, medium food quality, very expensive. You'd have to order 4 dishes to make it a proper meal. Wouldn't eat here again.Food: 2/5
