Whittaker's Music Museum
"WAIHEKE MUSICAL MUSEUMFounded by Lloyd & Joan WhittakerWaiheke Musical Museum houses a unique collection of antique & unusual instruments within a performance venue. The Museum was founded in 1996 by Lloyd and Joan Whittaker who, for years, had collected musical instruments from second hand shops, antique dealers and various old sheds located all around New Zealand. Lloyd was a talented musician and a consummate restorer of these instruments. When the couple moved from New Plymouth to Waiheke Island in 1996, they brought their collection with them and, with help from the community, started the Museum at Artworks in Oneroa. It moved into the current space in the same venue in 2000."

I enjoyed various kinds of sound of pianos. The owner played pianos for me. It was amazing!!
Very helpful and interesting guy showed us all of the instruments and how they worked and what make each one unique. Definitely recommend, fantastic!
I recommend that all music lovers stop here. They have a large collection of pianos, accordions, a xylophone, and more. The employees are talented and will play for you and will also give you a chance to play yourself :-
A beautiful quaint community museum. It has a recommended donation that is disproportionately low for the wondrous collection of history it provides. It is wonderful to listen to them being played as well
Just an awesome experience. The gentleman there was incredibly knowledgeable & was keen to show us the ins & out of how the instruments worked & the history behind them.
Small but still very interesting and engaging. You can tell this was made or of passion ahead of commercial interests.
We were given a personal tour and demo of many of the instruments. What a collection!
Lovely concept venue and eclectic collection.
