I was excited to find a local dermatologist and most of the reviews were solid. I filled out my paperwork ahead of time, but when I arrived they asked me to fill it out again, so I did. Other people were waiting and complaining about their wait times to the reception staff, so I knew they would be running late. At 40 minutes past my appointment time, reception came to tell me that my provider was 45 minutes late. At first, I thought "okay, 5 more minutes." But, they meant from that moment, so really, they were nearly an hour an a half behind. With any respect for their client's time, they would have mentioned this at check in and offered to reschedule then. The clinic seems far too disorganized to recommend it to anyone. Off to wait another 6-8 weeks to get in somewhere else!
This is the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had with a dermatologist office. Horrible communication. 9 days plus of not returning calls. Preformed a procedure with no instructions or information about healing time; leaving a horrible scar. The most unprofessional customer service I’ve ever had. They are maxed out and do not become a new patient. I regret ever coming here.
Had a consultation appointment with Dr. Ramsey Markus regarding sun spot treatment. He was very honest and helpful during the consultation, and pointed out I'm not yet the best candidate for laser treatment because of my skin condition. Although I didn't end up getting any treatment here, I have a pretty positive consultation experience.
I went to west side for IPL treatments.the receptionists, medical assistants and Dr. Marcus made the visit great. My rosacea has been one of my biggest insecurities so having a good experience on top of treating my insecurity was amazing!
This was my first time booking and attending a dermatologist appointment on my own after getting my own job and insurance and moving states. A little nervous going into it but they made everything so smooth. The process to create an appointment was straight forward, they had an appointment within a week of when I called. The check in process was easy as well and I didn’t even have time to finish the demographic patient information by the time they called me back I had a few minutes to complete it between the nurse and doctor to finish it. Little to no waiting. The doctor I saw was extremely knowledgeable and I felt like she asked the right questions and guided me to the best treatment option. She even helped me try and get a better prescription price by suggesting GoodRX. The prescriptions were sent out right away and I had no problems. I was even given a pamphlet on my condition so that I had more information. Lastly, I think it is worth mentioning that I was not rushed out. My initial appointment was for one thing but in the days leading up to it I had come up with something else I wanted looked at. My doctor was great and made sure I had all my questions answered which gave me the opportunity to ask about this new thing I had questions about without making me feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing anyone by “adding” to my appointment.
If your time is valuable, avoid this practice! My appointment was at 3pm. I arrived 5 minutes early as instructed to complete new patient paperwork. I was pleasantly surprised when the intake nurse called my name at a few minutes past 3. She was efficient but not especially friendly or kind and told me to put on the gown and the doctor would be in shortly. I then waited for over an hour for the doctor to appear. When she did, she had the wrong patient name and chart and I had to correct her. She then left for another five minutes to get that straightened out. There was never an apology or explanation for why I was kept waiting for an hour and 15 minutes. I also felt that Dr Wood was in a hurry and I did not get the quality check-up I wanted. The only people who were kind and caring were the two receptionists.
As another review mentioned below, I have difficulty with melisma, basal cell spots, brown “age spots” & melanoma runs in my family. I have seen two doctors at this office for two years for this on/off, in addition to Botox, skin biopsies, & removal of suspicious growths. I have finally found the perfect fit: Dr K Wood. She is new, thorough, caring & very productive. I am always prepared to wait in that office… for a long time… Average is an 1.5 to be in/out. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is well worth the wait & money spent. I’ve seen a variety of doctors for a car accident over the years, face surgery, physical therapy… I know hood doctors when I get one. The new girls at the front desk as well as the new dermatologist are helpful, patient and courteous. Thank you for today.
It is always a pleasant experience. I've been greeted warmly and with respect. I've been seeing Dr Arntzen for years. I've always felt that she is more than a doctor. Every appointment she inquires about my well being as well as that of my family. Even though it is a two hour drive each way.. It is well worth it!!
After waiting long time for an available appointment at this clinic, I saw Dr. Markus. This was a couple of months ago. I had several concerning spots, that needed screening. I didn’t find him to be particularly helpful, invested or interested in addressing my concerns, which means I will have to address them elsewhere. I think he was trying to be nice, but his tone and the way he communicated with me was as if I was some dumb first-grader. More than once he mentioned “age”, while dismissing my worries. This was strange, since I saw him not for any cosmetic concerns, but for concerns in the area of medical dermatology.
While I've had two positive experiences at this clinic in the past 10 years, my last time attempt was disappointing. I called three times, and left two messages, to try to book an appointment. I wasn't quite sure which doctor I should see based on my referral. Never a response. Then I emailed, and nothing. They may be closed, or they may simply have terrible service for any number of reasons. Either way, I switched to Swedish West Seattle Dermatology and got an appointment scheduled within 10 minutes.
