I recently visited Westgate bowling and was extremely disappointed with the overall experience. The machines seemed to be constantly breaking down, which made it difficult to enjoy a full game. On top of that, the place looked tired and in need of refurbishing. It was clear that it had not been well-maintained. In addition to the issues with the machines, there was a noticeable lack of staff on hand to assist customers. It seemed that there were not enough employees to adequately manage the facility and provide assistance when needed. Overall, I would not recommend Westgate bowling. The combination of poorly functioning machines and a lack of staff made for a frustrating and unpleasant experience. If you're looking for a good place to bowl, I would suggest finding another location.
This is a feeble and poor attempt at an entertainment facility. The overall run down sad aura that this places provide makes it the perfect place to 100% never come to again. The lanes were more crooked than wonky half boiled noodle. However I would recommend coming if you don’t like yourself and would love to have a depressing evening with whatever family you have left after visiting this place. The only thing this place seems to have going for it is the pokies machines in the back that I’m sure are the only reason this place still exist. As it’s a great place where kids can be left unattended as the parents gamble the savings away. Am yet to speak with a semi knowledgeable staff member that isn’t glued to there phone even when serving you. The rubbish everywhere is filthier than K road. Would rate a 1/10 simply because of the 8 dollar Corona. Thanks for your time
Very disappointing visit to this centre this week. The bowling lanes looked quite run down & most equipment looked well overdue for repair / replacement. The bathrooms were filthy & didn’t even have toilet paper in them. No music, no flashing lights, no atmosphere. The majority of the arcade games didn’t work, or had missing parts which we weren’t advised of when buying a bag of tokens. After trying 4 things, we asked for a refund of the rest of our tokens, which since it wasn’t “a full bag”, they weren’t keen to do. Without a decent upgrade, regular cleaning and some staff training in customer service, this would definitely be a place to avoid.
The bowling was fun but I would definitely recommend going to another place for bowling. This place is so run down, the bathrooms are dirtier than a gas station bathroom. Half of the arcade games don’t work so I wouldn’t Recommend paying for those as you would just be wasting your money. The music is terrible and awfully loud and the same songs kept repeating. The only thing this place is good for at this point is the games lounge for 18+
Needs an update in here but the staff are lovely. Just didn't like it when I mentioned the game machines need a slight clean. I wasn't offensive and apologized repeatedly when they become defensive but I was just saying it nicely as they had died chewing gum along the underside. But overall it was an OK place
Friday 16 December - Negative post If i could give 0 stars I would. It's no surprise that at any given time there were people up at the counter complaining and for different reasons. We went for ten pin bowling as we had never been to this place and truthfully it looked nice but boy was that misleading. We were on Lanes 9 and 10 and Lane 9 kept freezing and not restarting, so much so that we were told Lane 9 was broken and had to move everyone to Lane 10. It was so incredibly disruptive. We asked for a refund because we just could not take the lane messing up every few mins. They agree to refund our 2nd game. Now in any other establishment, common sense would dictate to refund but allow to complete the 2nd game as courtesy. Not in this place. Common sense was no where to be found. They stop the game literally mid bowl and refuse to take accountability for their unfortunate equipment. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Please do keep in mind, we were but 1 of the many that had complaints, there were many more.
Should have read the google reviews before going! The place is disgusting dirty! Will not be returning. We had a small child with us and the lane bumpers on one side was broken the staff member knew about this and still put us on the lane, we changed lanes and that one only worked sometimes and required you to manually pull it out. The lanes aren’t straight so very hard to the hit the pins
If I could rate this place a zero I would. Worse place to go ten pin bowling. DO NOT GO THERE!!! Bad service, dirty place, and staff members don’t communicate properly! I made a specific booking for bowl till you drop on a Sunday for 16-20 people which cost $20pp this is unlimited games till closing or till your done. My sister had called on my behalf to change our booking to later cause we couldn’t make the original time we booked for. We get there and the place is average, a little dirty, looked run down, and they didn’t have enough shoes. Apart of our group finished their second game they waited to play another but nothing showed up on their screen and their lane had turned off. When my group was at the end of our second game the staff members were turning off the lanes, game machines, and started to vacuum the floors. When the game finished I went to the counter and asked why they were closing because on the website it said they closed at 12am and we had booked unlimited games where we keep playing till we are finished or until they closed. The staff member said that it wasn’t a busy night and they were closing early. I had an argument with the staff because when I called that morning to make a booking I told them we wanted unlimited games / bowl till you drop for our group!, when my sister called to change the time the staff member changed the entire booking instead of the time and this is because she asked how many games we were playing, my sister answered with two because the staff member advised we would not have enough time to play more games, despite the special they had going on till they close They overcharged us and wouldn’t give a refund because they said the fault was on our end. The fact they didn’t even promote their special they have on Sunday nights and Tuesday nights and charged us for two games left us very disappointed with their service and their communication between each other. Their staff need to communicate better, if a booking is for something specific it needs to be noted properly so if someone calls back later to make changes they know exactly what the booking is for and don’t change the entire booking I hope this review helps because me and my family will never be going back here ever again!!
This place is In desperate need of an upgrade nearly all the arcade games were faulty and broken and we didn't know this before buying tokens the female toilets were gross and toilet seat came off when using it. the bowling was OK but there was no table at the booth and seats were uncomfortable go somewhere else if you have the option
lane kept breaking, pins would fall over as soon as they were placed down, pins would fall into the lane and get stuck in gutter, bumper was broken so it would stay out even when we didn't want it, staff were dismissive and rude, would sometimes wait up to 10 minutes to get things sorted so the next person could have their turn. Family couldn't wait to leave, better off going somewhere else this place is showing its age.
