So I got my wisdom teeth removed in late 2017 at Western Day surgery My surgeon was clearly skilled and fairly nice but also looked overworked. I was there a total of around 3 hours from arrival to being carried out the door. So the first thing you will notice about the building is its one of those ugly 80s brick buildings - The signage is faded and the building hasn't been maintained. So i entered the building, filled out some paper work and was then asked to sit down in the waiting area. At this time a patient came out from the back - clearly straight out from surgery - the poor fellow had a big bandage around his mouth - looked really messed up and was having trouble standing. They sat him down in the waiting room. That was the last thing i needed to see just before going in for surgery. At this point i asked the nurse for oral sedatives - As i am a nervous person and did not want to be stressed out for the next hour and during when they induced me. She said in an angry voice "You didn't tell me you took sedatives!" I said "I didn't... I "Require" sedatives" She didn't answer me and left out the back. Soon i was pushed into another waiting room where i spoke to the anesthetist. We talked about the procedure for a couple minutes then he told me to come around the back to be put under. Surgery is unpleasant for everyone especially those of us who have had traumatic experiences in the past. I told him that i cant deal with this, I need a sedative.. "No one told me" I was flabbergasted. Knowing i would be facing this, i had Over the course of the last month made around 5 phone calls about this very issue - Yet nothing was done, and no sympathy was given. (As it turns out when given sedatives they need to keep you there for longer (You have a longer recovery time) Hence they cant turn over new patients as fast when sedatives are given) Given the lengths i went too to sort this stress out before hand, Its hard to see that any patients would be given sedatives - and i am far from the most in-need. Oh well i guess patient trauma is not their problem. So it turns out that i was allowed to have this surgery with no over-gowns and with shoes on. I am not a doctor but it seems foolhardy to let everyone bring in their potentially filthy items in a "sterile" environment who knows what i had on my shoes or elsewhere. Anyway i woke up feeling groggy, after a short conversation with the surgeon i was moved into the main waiting room. (i couldn't even stand - and needed to be supported) Even when groggy i could see the faces of the people waiting there - they looked angry/annoyed to see me. I told nurse ratchet that i shouldn't be in that room as it would scare the next patients. Well apparently i am completely wrong about that according to her. Soon after that i was taken home. So moral of the story - if you want to be part of a cattle production line of money extraction then this is the place for you. I would find it hard to argue that a high standard of care was given when everything from arrival only took around 3 hours. Everything was rushed so much to the point of zero care being given. I was not allowed to keep my extracted teeth because of nurse ratchet - A factor very important to me as i have kept every tooth i have ever lost (not anymore!) And is a request generally permitted by surgeons. So in conclusion 1.5 stars WOULD NOT Recommend - hard to see how a practice could be much worse in a first world private facility without there being blatant malpractice. This is just my opinion but somehow i doubt i am not the only one to have had this experience. And if your curious I initially had a huge amount of swelling but am healing up nicely now.

Generally 100% of the medical staff and 90%of the reception staff were great. There is an elder grey lady in reception who had a attitude the size of the MOON and rude when my dad who was there for a day Surgery. Give me a call whoever knows her. Full marks to another lady in reception was polite and medical staff were superb.
