Josie Ayad, Diabetes Educator is a rock star. Diabetes when processed properly by an individual can be used as a tool to better health. Josie is the right mentor for helping a patient to embrace diabetes and use it as a motivation to fix a lifestyle. After being in contact with her , i have been impressed on how both of us worked as a team. 4 weeks after first meeting, i lost 5Kg with disciplined healthy eating and needless to say, Blood sugar levels have reduced . I feel more energetic in the mind and body. I recommend Josie to others. Get in early and see her. You will be amazed at the turn around you can achieve with her education.
Today during my appointment with Josie why when I woke up in the morning with high sugar level. Josie explained to me the reason is when we sleep the sugar level drop and then the liver give us energy from the store sugar which is good for our health. Now I am at piece with my myself. I also lost 7kg and 14cm from my weight. Can everyone please as Josie this question why your sugar is always high in the morning and she will explained in great details for you to understand. Thanks Josie for the great explanation.
I lost my elder brother and Mum to diabetic neglect. And guess what? 2 months ago I was diagnosed with diabetes. I was distraught and discouraged. But then I met Josie. She educated me on not just the clinical and medical side of managing the diabetes but motivated me to believe that I can thank God for the diabetes, it is not a curse on the end of the world but rather a new chapter…new beginning. It’s been 6 weeks and my blood sugar reading are fairly content. I have lost 5.5 kgs and 16 cm on my waist. I feel so much better, so much more energy, certainly look better and loving myself again. The diagnosis has truly been a blessing and in a strange and odd way I thank God for it every day. I thank God for Josie and Dr Emmanuel. Josie may God continue to use you to help others live healthy and flourishing lives. Thanks and God bless you abundantly.
I seen Josie for my diabetes. She is unlike most doctors, she makes you feel comfortable and feel like the advice your getting is just a concerned nan/aunt trying to get her grandkids back to health. 22 and having to navigate the diagnosis for the rest of my life makes it a bit easier when you have professionals who treat you lie that rather than just another doctor who ask xyz to tick me off her list. love her. Very informative as well.
1. Four months ago, I received a diagnosis of Diabetes, which initially took me by surprise. After some time, I came to terms with it and began following my GP's advice on medication. I also made the decision to cut out sweets from my diet. A significant turning point for me was my first appointment with my diabetic nurse, Josie. She educated me about various foods that can cause sugar spikes in our blood. This inspired me to dive into research, watching videos from Dr. Berg, Dr. David Urwin, and Dr. Jason Fung, as well as TED talks from individuals who successfully reversed their diabetes.nnThe transformation in my diet was remarkable. I incorporated more proteins, reduced my carbohydrate intake by 60%, and switched to low-carb bread and wraps. I even started making my own flour for chapatis by milling millets, moong beans, and black chickpeas together. While these chapatis do contain carbs, they keep me feeling full for longer, which has led to me eating less overall. I also added post-meal walks to my daily routine.nnThe results have been incredible! On average, my sugar levels stay below 8 after meals and never go above 5.8 when I’m fasting. This experience has shown me that diabetes doesn’t have to be a progressive disease. We can take control of our health by providing our bodies with the right nutrition and exercise. When I last met with Diabetic educator, Josie, I was 4 KGs less and lost several cm around my waist. She has been very helpful in this journey for me.nnI am a vegetarian and the best food for me were:nMoong green beansnEggsnBlack chickpeasnsaladsnLow carb bread and wraps
