back in the day, it used to be just a plain park, with used syringes all around. much has changed, with "useful" facilities. it feels more family friendly now, and much "nicer" to walk through. the Giant was even here in 2015
The decades of years old trees are amazing. Nice shady area, people to meet. The homeless gather at lunchtime waiting for the mobile soup kitchen.
I love living near Weld Square- just needs some more cleaning! It’s a shame that the homeless people leave so much rubbish everywhere. Please, avoid the north west corner of the park after 10 pm at night. Very dangerous. Some of the locals have picnics here on the weekends - It’s cute to see the young couples together
There's seating picnic tables and plenty of shade. There's also a basketball ring. The park is frequented by homeless people, many of whom have behavioral problems, so it can be dangerous at times. Antisocial behaviour is increasing.
They've done a nice job transforming this park to a very nice space with a nice atmosphere with people of all walks of life.
Lunch in the park. When the chips are down I know I can rely on the kind hearted volunteers to help me out with a square meal come lunchtime. Thanks to those who give their time, elbow grease and care into helping out. And thanks to the food suppliers. Things aren't getting any easier for those who are living on the fringe of society.
Full of homeless ‘locals’. Rubbish and used pick’s
The people at Weld Sq who go there for company and a meal because they are homeless need Jesus. It's a peaceful place to repent and ask the Lord into our lives who will then fill us with his perfect love and give us everything we need to find shelter away from being at the mercy of drugs, homelessness and death on the street.
Weld Park is been the place for Homeless People to get free lunch at 1 : 30pm they Have been catered by mama since ages, the oark is nice for Picnic and bbq ....
Nice and green ...close to everything..amenities...water fountains...grass to lay on ...maccas...free lunch for strugglers..
