$40- 60 per person with seafood Good for big Group Ample Parking I have been hearing good feedback on Walrus from friends for a long time. Come to give it a try with families for dinner. In summary, go for seafood, roast meat and complimentary soup and sweet soup. Stay away from deep fry items. 1. Lobster is super fresh. Spring onion and finger with egg noodles is the best way to have it. 2. Complimentary long boil soup was surprisingly good. 3. Roast pork is crispy and tender. 4. Roast duck is tender and juicy. 5. Complimentary red bean sweet soup is cook to perfection and not too sweet. We also tried deep fry oysters which is not worth trying. Oyster too small and batter to thick. Deep fry calamari is also over cook and too tough.
This nondescript restaurant serves no frills delicious Canto style food. Service is on point, popular place so best to book or arrive early. Soup and dessert were complementary. Prices may seem high for the area but... the food! Both street and paid parking available in the vicinity
It was one of those late evening late minute dash for food for us and since we were near Springvale, we decide to give this restaurant a go. Pleasantly surprised with their service. Started off well with a warm comforting complementary soup see photo while the chef prepared our 2dishes. For a party of 3, we ordered the spicy chicken ribs and a mixed vegetable with tofu. See photos. Both are promptly served right after we finished our soup. At the end of a filling dinner, we were treated with a red bean dessert. Will go back again with a larger group and try more dishes!
A restaurant that's been in Springvale for many years I first went in around 2005 or so, always consistently good. Your typical Chinese restaurant though - subpar service towards Asians better service for Caucasians, but I guess that's all part of the appeal / experience! Prices are slightly a bit more than average then compared to other restaurants this dinner pictured cost $190+ - mostly due to the fish, but it is what it is. Would recommend the Clams in XO sauce, and Spicy salt and chilli chicken ribs.
Famous for its crab noodle, this resto is always busy. However on our few recent visits the quality of food seems deterioting much. While we like the noodle and Singaporean-style and ginger shallot sauces, the crabs were tasted not too fresh, the clam dish was way too salty. On this last visit we also found some metal clip? on the crab dish. The service was almost non-existant as there were too few staffs. Pricewise, not cheap. About $125 for crab dish, depending on the crab size. Last note, this is the noisiest restorant I've been. The room accoustic is so so bad. It sounds like everybody was kungfu fighting there. Needless to say, this is our last time visit. Never again.
I been here for dinner with few of my friends together about couple week ago. We was order 6 of the dish most of them is just a normal dish and 1 of them is the crab with the noodle. When I pay the bill I was shock. I pay about more then $450 and the crab dish is need the cost of $300 more a bit. We was get 2 crab with 3 noodle, the crab was small. They list is say $48 per pound and the crab is look like about two pound for each. When 8 ask them why so expensive cos I saw the receipt is charge for 6 pound for the crab. Then they say we order 3 of crab but we say we just order 2 crab and the the waitress go ask the kitchen and when she came back they say oops sorry is was just 5 and half pound so they refund me back $24 only. We have so argued say the crab should not that heavy or expensive. Is not we can't afford to eat is just not the reasonable of the price. While if I not asked they already over charge us more but now even more expensive. This is not honesty of the restaurant. I been always buy crab and what the crab size that we have was not even have 1 kg for each of the crab. They are totally not honest ,I always go out restaurant for eating and this is the 1st restaurant that made me so disappointed and all of my friends say will definitely not going back again. I will go for customer consumer complain about it for the dishonest.
Such attentive service, such flavourful food. Crab Noodle was the best I've had, here. Deep fried ice cream was lit up and had a nice batter great to finish off our meal.
We had chicken ribs & veg stir fried for lunch, portion is really big 2 of us can not finish. The chicken ribs are the best! Highly recommended.
had a great dinner here with some foodie friends. pick of the night was the Kang Kong in fermented beancurd sauce which I really loved, and the salt and pepper eel which was made with live eel they have tanks, and seafood is always best fresh. XO pippies were also outstanding as was the accompanying dough fritter youtiao. roast meat selection was good, although the pipa duck here isn't as good as Chopsticks Delight that IMO is the best in Melbourne. deep fried stuffed intestines was yummy!
Good reliable Cantonese food. I always go for the crocodile fry with ginger and spring onions. So nice. Reasonable prices. Reasonable range of beers.
