Terrible hospital to work for. Management aware of the dangerous situations but no action (especially in women's health). Bullying accepted. Not safe at all!

Horrible hospital and staff. I find them to be bossy and rude. Long wait periods too. If the nurse does not like you for any reason she will place you as a P3 which means you will be pushed down to the bottom of the waiting list each time a new person comes in who is marked as a P1 or P2 (means 1st priority and 2nd priority). Yes this type of discrimination does happen esp among Pakeha staff members, mainly nurses. Most people do not know about this system but I have seen if happen myself working at a DHB before. No ethics but what do you expect when nurses are in charge with only 3 year degrees- professional- maybe you will get lucky. When you make a complaint the head office only brushes it off. I suggest to look at the online reviews of bullying history at Waikato DHB and you will soon know what I mean. The bullying starts from the top and goes down the line even to the client from the staff. The Canadian CEO also requires all staff to be immunized or else wear a mask. He does not even consider religious or spiritual values that people may have that do not wish to get immunized- but his answer, is- must where a mask! Fanatics do not only live in the US but also come from Canada and live here in NZ too. If you thought the Taliban is only in Pakistan, you are wrong even hear in little old New Zealand at the Waikato DHB. This may give you an indication of the bullying that goes on. Waikato is full of bullies in management or head positions. He quit or was asked to after fraudulent activity- does not surprise me w/Waikato DHB at all. Kiwis let this happen cause they allow dysfunction to an abnormal extent. I have experienced it and also heard from others many, many horrid stories. If probs: Keep a digital recorder with you- make a transcript of what you need and if they do any harm or negligence to you, then take them to court but make sure you have all paperwork and documents. Also remember that the hospitals all across NZ have some of the best lawyers in NZ to defend them so be careful that you make your way carefully to collect all your information- do not say a word but you can hold them accountable if you can collect all the information you can on your case and have evidence of any abuse that they have done to you. Since they are a Govt Dept many lawyers will not go against them- you must find one willing or do it yourself in Disputes Tribunal up to 15k to 20K. If you need surgery or medical stuff re-done elsewhere then get the medical boards involved who monitor them and ask them to pay for it. If you work there take a personal grievance and file with ERA court if they do not negotiate with you. Give them 2 to 3 attempts, no more.

I contracted osteomylitis two years ago in my lumbar spine due to junior doctors Unsupervised doing a lumbar puncture on me Aggressively also So I had to have another one done by a Senior doctor Week later which resulted in my syatica being pinched Now after the 2nd lumbar puncture I was in constant pain for days I kept returning to the hospital Saying something's wrong For at least2 weeks 4weeks I had gone to hospital 15 - 20 times Even to be told it all in my head & I'm drug seeking Finally after I was giving up hope of Anyone taking me seriously They found the infection in my spine If I had been left a few more days I'd be in a critical state No I have constant syatica pain & also now fibramyalga I can't work & am always in & out of hospital Every few months All because I was a guenipig for med students unsupervised Way to go Waikato hospital At wrecking my life !!!

Went to Ear Nose and Throat Dep., the receptionist was cheerful and helpful, got in within five minutes of the app. time, the Medical staff who checked me out were excellent, had an X ray and a check over, filled out the paperwork and in the car in less than an hour ten minutes. Great system, and if I might add, if it ain't broke, don't fix it? Many thanks. Ian Jones
