Fish"n'chips on the beach is as kiwi as it gets! Super handy location near one of NZ's great beaches. ‍‍Food: 4/5
Wow, what a hidden gem! We usually go to Golden Nest takeaway for our fish and chips and have done so for years. Occasionally they aren't open and we're forced to try other local takeaway stores. Usually disappointed - Golden Nest is hard to beat! We've lived here for 13 years or so and i have to admit, i had no idea that Waikanae Beach Takeaways even existed! I just happened to come across them on Google and decided to give them a try. Super glad we did! They are right up there with regard to the quality and taste of the fish and chips. The only little gripe i would have is that their scoop of chips was a little on the smaller side, but other than that, we were very pleased. Definitely going back there again!
I have been here before . It's a busy takeaway /fish and chip shop . But ,while the service is great and very polite , I find the fish is a bit dry , chips are so-so , and not as good as it used to be . Portions are just ok . I guess there's not much competition , and not much feedback ,so things have slipped a bit . Fairly central location for Waikanae beach residence , just near the bakery and dairy .
The Waikanae Beach Takeaways is clearly a local favourite. Although there were some restrictions due to Covid Level 2 there was a steady stream of phone orders being collected while we waited in the shop. The menu has all the takeaway favourites and the food was well cooked, with the all-important chips just right. Why not do what we did and head down to the beach with your yummy food to watch the sunset?
Great fish & Chips, it's a good idea to phone your order in as they get very busy.
Very good burgers, chips and chicken nuggets. Despite being busy was ready in 10 minutes, quicker than estimated. Highly recommended.
Good fish and chip shop, Usually get a scoop of chips here if I am around. Chips taste good as well as fish. Nice shop has seats to wait on, Nice and tidy as well as friendly staff. Overall a good chip shop.
A little more pricey than shops in Pram but tasted great. We asked for lemon pepper and got it but it seemed to be applied sparingly. Still, tasted great. Will definitely go again if the chance arises.
Good fish n chip shop. Nice fresh fish, golden chips with fresh oil. Good simple tasty burgers. Clean establishment, friendly lady behind counter. Will definitely go again.
Lovely staff. Have been going here since i moved here 5 years ago. Never had any complaints with the food
