The food is consistently amazing and fast, service is nice enough, everhthjng is very reasonably priced. Definitely my favorite fish and chip shop on the coast.
Last few times we have ordered the fish has been old and fishy. To the point that we can't eat it. Called today to ask when the fish was caught and they couldn't even tell me. Very disappointing. I will not be eating here again.
Though SOME of this may be due to the "early start" in the serving period yesterday evening I was #4, and that I didn't have the opportunity to eat the battered fish & half-portion of chips, beyond the great PRICE, it was a distinctly underwhelming experience as a Wellingtonian rather than a local, though I strongly feel that should make no difference. Both the batter & the chips were under-cooked, and that really cannot be "spoiled" by delay in eating, so... hmm. This is what may have been due to the "earliness". HOWEVER, it *STILL* took well over 10 minutes to be ready, with few other customers in the place. Certainly they may have had called-in orders to prepare, but they too would have had the same quality... The thing which is more disappointing is the nigh-on hostile service given when presenting the food: a disapproving glower. I *MAY* try this place again, giving everywhere at least one opportunity to have an "off-day" but I'll look elsewhere first.
Just had a awful meal of undercooked, definitely not fresh fish and the chips were lukewarm and miserable. Expensive meal - you'll never see me again.

Stopped in on my home from a mates place and felt like fish and chips Stopped in and was the best I've had for years as fish had a beautiful flavor batter was perfect and chips absolutely delicious Definitely highly recommended to others as good value for money
Expensive but extremely tasty and large piece of snapper. The squid rings and curry roll were cooked to perfection as well. Didn't care about the price in the end.
ConsIstently good service from friendly staff. A really efficient phone order system. Your order is cooked, hot, and ready to collect at the time you ordered.
The fish is fantastic, as for the batter you can't fault it nice and crispy. Hands down best I've had in a long time. Thank you
