The Hume Region extends over 40,000 square kilometres of northeast Victoria, encompassing many communities that are culturally rich and diverse.

The Region contains twelve local government areas, including Alpine, Benalla, Greater Shepparton, Indigo, Mansfield, Mitchell, Moira, Murrindindi, Strathbogie, Towong, Wangaratta and Wodonga. It is geographically varied including Victoria’s alpine resort areas of Hotham, Falls Creek, Mt Buller, Mt. Sterling and Lake Mountain. It is also the entry point for the Murray River and contains the entire course of the Goulburn, Ovens, Broken, Kiewa and King rivers.
