VanBar are great, and I have been using them for 20 years, but their new premises is almost impossible to find. I spent 20 minutes trying to actually find them, and then just gave up. Google Maps says it is on Maclure St, but it's not. There is no signage visible from the road, not even a street number. Darebin road at that point is very busy and difficult to navigate. There is almost no parking Apparent from the Street View photos. It's like thay are actually trying to hide the store! Only good for online purchases I'm afraid.
Just received my prints back from Vanbar. The quality of the paper and intensity of color is way beyond expectations. Printed by color and Mono and So Pleased... Thankyou .. will be back for more

After placing my order online I was able to pick it up within hours with appropriate covid awareness processing.nnI was even able to register online as a VIP member and be entitled to the free newsletter.nnThere is free parking for customers in the street and also offstreet parking in Leicester Street.nnThe site is open Saturday for click and collect.
I had some old exposed film sitting in our fridge for the last 30+ years. Just never got around to getting it developed. I dropped off 36 rolls of film to see if they could rescue some exposures. I just hoped we could save some images. Mainly photos of our boys growing up. Out of the 36 rolls, we got 33 rolls of very acceptable images. I/we are elated. The memories are incredible. We can not thank the team at Vanbar enough for the results they achieved. We found the development cost reasonable for what we see as priceless memories. Thank you.
Two part review:nn1 when I arrived to submit my photos for development, an older man that looked like a manager/owner called an older employee and took him a few meters away from the main desk but well and truly in sight and earshot of everyone in the building and proceeded to harass him, scream at him and threaten “next time tell clients you need to stop chatting and hurry up or you’ll get sacked!” No matter what the circumstance were or performance of said employee, it is really disgraceful, disrespectful and just poor management to treat your employees this way and to be so happy to do so in front of clients and other staff members. On this alone I won’t be coming back, and I hope this person gets some help, anger management maybe?nn2 went on a roadtrip and came to them with 2 disposable cameras, all photos came back well except for one photo depicting a nude man. Nothing obscene or indecent, just a nude friend. It came back compromised and with a massive streak in it. No mention or apology but after reading other reviews it has crossed my mind that it may have been intentional. No way to be sure so please tell me I’m wrong but after incident 1 I am assuming the worst.
