SUPERB COFFEE, GREAT FOOD, FRIENDLY STAFF

Located by One Tree Hill Domain, Urban Verge is a purveyor of Amazing Coffee and delicious foods straight from the kitchen!
Call us mad but we are back in Auckland to set up a new cafe called Urban Verge.
We are the original owners of Frolic Cafe 1999-2008 and about to take over the same premise at 653 Manukau Road, Epsom, Auckland and are excited to start this new venture.

Went on Friday to get a takeaway coffee as a ‘treat’ and was so disappointed. Really rude service “wait there” etc. no hi, no please, no thank you. It was weird. Coffee was way below average. Almost undrinkable which sucks when you are paying $5.50 and throw half of it away. What a shame. Poor coffee and grumpy service are pretty unforgivable. I won’t be back, even though it’s right on my way to work. Bring back frolic.

Very friendly staff with good wholesome food. A nice weekend lunch! Staff were very attentive to my wife’s dietary requirements. Would definitely visit again.

Considering these guys are the previous owners of Frolic, they've got a lot more to learn to get back up to speed of running a cafe. Coffees weren't hot, or strong. I had to go up to the counter to ask if we can order (after waiting for ages), there were only two other tables. Finally our food came out, aside from my toddlers breakfast. I had to approach the front of house twice asking where it was. Some excuse given that it wasn't printed on the docket, I suggested they had simply forgotten. Kids meal finally came out and the rest of us had nearly finished. Poor acknowledgement from staff, no apology. Food is rather bland, and considering the prices they charge you would expect so much more/better. Soap dispenser in bathroom was sitting in the sink. Staff should learn what customer service is, even try a smile, it won't hurt them. Wouldn't go back unless something drastic changed.

Great food and really friendly staff. Had a lovely lunch with awesome coffee too. We will be back for sure.

The Hollandaise sauce was hard to eat. I was Charged $5 to add Avocado, and then was bought out an Avocado that was a few days from being ripe. Extremely disappointed. Nice location, but I was hoping there would be some newspapers to read however, it looked like the only material was a coffee break.
