We stayed two nights in 'Eagles Nest' with my parents who were visiting Australia from the UK. The cabin was perfect with spectacular views, wonderful airy bedrooms and plenty of space for up to 6 people (8 would be slightly cramped). The deck was stunning - perfectly furnished with unbelievable views over steep hills that run down to Turon River. Wildlife is guaranteed as we saw thousands of kangaroos, reptiles and bird life. The mountain huts are secluded and offer a tranquil escape from Syd (3hrs) *MUST DO* we went on a hike up to the glow worm tunnels in the Wolgan Valley during our visit, it was the best and most biologically interesting short hike I've ever done. 5*****

This place is fantastic. We've been coming here annually on and off for over 5 years and have camped, as well as stayed in the cabins. Regardless of where we stay the hosts always go above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel at home. The surrounds are gorgeous and there is an abundance of wildlife to enjoy. Absolute serenity!

Great hospitality by the owners. Beautiful scenery. Great fishing. Horseback riding was excellent as well. We highly recommend this place for a nice getaway.

We were looking for a quiet place to celebrate our second anniversary and found out about Turon Gates through a friend. When we arrived the first thing we though was that the fields were really dried since it has barely rained this winter. When we finally got to the cabin we loved the outside, with a campfire spot already set up, a wood barbecue and the river next to us. We got inside the cabin and loved it from the first minute. A bottle of wine and a sample of local honey was there to welcome us. The main bedroom had a very comfy king size bed, and the bathroom was very new and clean. I liked the simplicity of the country style decoration. Best bit of the inside, the wood stove. We used it in the morning and at night time. Very peaceful and quiet, amazing clear view of the stars at night and nice little treks to do around the area. The only fault I could find it was that the landscape was very dry, but nothing to blame on the Turon Gates lovely owners. Thanks for having us!

The wildlife and peaceful bush makes this place. The creek is loaded with freshwater crayfish and aquatic life, there's a fair amount of bird-life, lizards and wallabies are everywhere. Went in a quiet period so not sure what its like when it gets busy, but the the facilities were modern and clean, the road in was well maintained, loads of private camping spots along a fairly shallow creek (there are deeper swimming spots) and the manager was friendly and easy to talk to. I would recommend as a weekend camping trip for couples.
