This business is a ruthless, price-gauging rip off. Quotes for parts and service begin at 3 times the equivalent of higher quality mechanics in Melbourne's northern suburbs. I've had quotes up to 9 times higher than reputable mechanics offering genuine, original parts, with far better quality and much quicker service times. Just count how many replies there are to these reviews by the owner, making feeble excuses. Notice a pattern of unscrupulous business ethics? Avoid at all costs.

Took my Subaru Outback here after Subaru told me $5000 - $6000 to fix (replace) turbo. I had experienced the Subaru approach to just replacing whole units before so looked elsewhere. Spoke to Caroline at Turbo Eng who was very knowledgeable and helpful and told me $2600 - $3000 to replace with genuine part if that was required depending on the work needed from test/inspection. Trucked the vehicle there and they told me next day that it was likely that replacement of a failed turbo intake pipe (common Subaru turbo problem) would likely sort the problem subject to testing. All sorted next day $940 total cost (Subaru parts are never cheap). Very happy with the service. If I had gone back to the Subaru dealer I would not get the specialist advice that allowed me to dodge the bullet.

They took EIGHT days to make a wrong diagnosis and charged $750 for this. The alleged replacement part was to be an extra $300 (plus labour) but part not available in Australia, had to be ordered from the U.S. I took the car away to await the part but three weeks later when the part still hadn’t arrived, they couldn’t tell me if they had forgotten to order it or the States had forgotten to send it. I found a second hand part myself, fitted it to test their pricey diagnosis and discovered it was NOT the problem. Took the car to Jeep Dealership Southbank who fixed the problem in world record time (like a pit stop at the Grand Prix) and said the ENTIRE ISSUE WAS A CLOGGED AIR FILTER. Bottom line this business cost me close to a thousand extra bucks for nothing, I could have rolled the money into long cigars and smoked it, given it to random strangers, watched local dogs chew on it and shake the wad at me, or just torn it up and thrown it up in the air like confetti. I can only guess what they would have eventually said the problem was... probably a totally blown turbo. Jeep said “very unusual they never checked the air filter.” Consolation runner-up nincompoop award to my local mechanic who obviously never changed the air filter when the car was serviced. EDIT: The response from the owner contains multiple inaccuracies, misleading comments, exaggerations and straight out fabrications (starting with the very FIRST LINE) - the problem WAS the blocked air filter and Turbo Engineering didn't even check that first for a turbo problem (or did they?) and instead led a merry dance down the wrong pathway that sucked weeks of time and overall cost a client close to one thousand dollars (which would have been ongoing). A simple air filter solution doesn't give a company the chance to make 2, 3, 4, or 5 thousand bucks+ does it? You need a never-ending fairytale for that.

This place is a scam! Charged $1200+ for an oil leak and for one hose for my Peugeot 308. It also took them 3 days for them to fix as they had a hard time locating the oil leak. Then they tried to sell me on getting diagnostics done and telling me the Turbo might need replacing. If you have money to throw away then this is the perfect place for you.
