Popular and busy. Made a phone reservation. Restaurant area seperate from the bar. Interesting floor angles down towards the front. Probably earthquake damage. Some cars on the main road made the place rumble - so be prepared. Wait staff mainly female tonight - uniformed. Pleasant and welcoming. Had a booth for three. All the dishes on the menu sounded great and a good choice to select from including a blackboard specials. I had the chicken parmigiana - moist meat, golden crumb served atop slim french fries. Rounded off with some salad leaves, carrot and tomato, dressed. Pottle of tomato sauce - not needed as the chicken had tomato and cheese. My friend had the beef and date tagine served with rice and salad. Steak fromage - served with chips and salad on a foccacia bread. We had room for dessert which was banoffee pie, rich and delicious. No complaints from any of us. As this was very busy - the noise level was high so take this into consideration. Three courses without drinks you would be looking over 50$ a person. Clean and tidy, although gas bottles line the entrance to the toilets out the back. There is a bar and restaurant. Outside tables are also available. Noise of Riccarton Road - no issues. Plenty of parking around on the street.
Alright big plates of food. Service good of been better but improved during the night. Waitress should wear name tags.
The mocktail and service were beautiful. The main course was horrible. We ordered meatballs and spaghetti and that is literally what we got. Bland pasta with fast food tasting fake meatballs in minimum sauce. We had to ask for butter, in order to add flavor to the pasta At 22 dollars with no garlic bread, the least the cook could have done was add sauce, garlic and seasoning to the dish. They will not get my money for that dish ever again. I needed a real drink after that experience
4 of us came for dinner. The steak was cooked like a lump of charcoal. My burger patty was a hard black charcoal lump. The fish was so mushy it was almost like a paste. Only 1 of the main was good. Was offered a free dessert as a way of apology but didn't have time to accept. Good service but food very poor.
Went on unexpected meal out with the family and ordered the beef cheeks, and wow, was so awesome and best meal out in a long time. Kids meals were great too, kids pizzas were not cheap looking pizzas like some other restaurants do. Would recommend for sure.
Went to Trevino's last night. Nothing really good to say about it at all. Service very average. Food very average. Waitress took our orders twice as she got confused. We contirned them with her and they still came out incorrect. Ordered a 250 ml glass of wine....$17 I was given a 150 mi. When the waitress dumped it in the table I questioned her about it. She insisted it was a 250ml and walked away. Talked to a nice waiter and he corrected it. The venue is dated.. The toilets are terrible. Broken and dirty. It's pretty much a public bar. With over priced food and bad service.
Wanted to have a nice meal out with my husband, nothing fancy just wanted to have someone else cook. I ordered a hamburger and when it arrived knew it was a terrible mistake. The bun - cheap and nasty. The meat - more sausage meat than minced beef. the bacon - or was it ham, hard to tell, more like someones idea of what meat will look like in the future when we no longer have it come from animals but laboratories produce rough imitations. the cheese - plastic. The chips were hot. I felt bad for the kitchen staff as I am sure they took no pride in sending such poor quality cheap and nasty food out to the public. Would not have paid for it but did not want to make a fuss as my husband had suggested we try Trevinos. Will not be back.
Terrible experience here, the waitress seemed offended that I didn't want meat in my salad walked away when I was trying to order a drink then when I did get my meal a Caesar salad it was awful, poached egg was rock solid and no dressing to be seen at all. Oh and there was no soap in the bathroom we had to ask for them to put some so we could wash our hands. The bathrooms also stunk like they hadn't been cleaned in some time
Very poor New Year's eve meal, steaks ordered medium rare, more well done than even a medium. One of the waitresses over poored our bottle of bubbles twice pooring it all over the table, the wine was not replaced. Then when the food came out a different waitress spilt the meal over one us shirt and trousers covered in food, she brought out a dirty old cloth to clean up, then left the cloth on our table throuout the meal. Very disappointing experience, food and service, needless to say we left without dessert and before any more mishaps
Had a good value meal, made better by having an excellent attentive waiter who had good wine knowledge and when he did make one mistake he rectified it straight away. Kid's meals were dealt with quickly. Would go again.
