Always a greet meeting place for food and drinks with friendly staff. The live band had a great sound but was way too loud for the space and unable to talk. So unfortunately we did leave earlier than plannedFood: 5/5
Not a bad spot to stop for lunch on your way to the MCG. All the pub fare here, plenty of room, with tables inside and out.Food: 5/5
A great time thanks to the great inclusive atmosphere created by GEORGA BYRNE TRIO —ensure you mark their gigs in the diary as them plus the venue great a great atmosphere with people of all sorts and from street coming together— for fun friendly time with lots fine food and drink options with a view
Great hotel! We ate at the Taxi Kitchen which was spectacular! It was pricey due to the Public holiday, and the serves are conservative but the food was divine. Then we went downstairs to the Public Bar and saw the one and only Andrew DeSilva, who was his brilliant, talented and entertaining self. What a great afternoon. A+ Vegetarian options: I could only identify one vegan option, other than chips, which was the broccolini a side dish i think, which was very disappointing, however, the dish itself was just amazing. The broccolini was sitting on a bed of tahini or hummus and had a drizzle of an asian Tom Yum perhaps inspired oil. Yum!
Great place to head to prior to a sporting game or night out in the city. Atmosphere always buzzing however it does get over crowded at times. Food is a little over priced in the downstairs bar but quick to arriveFood: 4/5
Nastiest bartender I’ve come across. Brought up a couple of empty glasses to be nice and she snatched them angrily clicking so hard they break. No contact. She was just miserable. Atmosphere was great, the guy with glasses next to her serving us was nice. Don’t go to the rooftop, she was beyond nastyFood: 1/5
Our go to for a footy watch and a feed. Food is usually good but can miss sometimes, service is always good and a great atmosphere in the heart of Melbourne. Had the Southern Crispy chicken burger on my last visit, a little extra on the sauce but a great fillet chips are always on point!!Food: 4/5
$7.50 for a small coke! Mushroom Pizza is very ordinary. Basically a cooked pizza base with cold sliced mushrooms and grated cheese on top not even heated or melted.Food: 1/5
Stopped by on the way to watch the mighty Pies light up the MCG. Very tasty and fresh food. Place was packed as well which is always a good sign. Will be back!
Ok this place is great but a new phenomenon has emerged. They never took bookings for tables and now they do it. So if you are there having a meal and drinks you will be kicked out. Find another pub like the Duke, Young and Jackson or the Riverland. MadnessFood: 4/5
