Tourist in Townsville? Download/Use Uber. Even with Surcharge. Even with NYE surcharge. Just waited for 120 minutes for a taxi from the Ferry Harbour. 120. It’s NYE, but this wait was a failed company, not demand/supply. Called 6 times and had a variation of friendly to unapologetic people on the other end. Got the same statements about “priority” like everyone else after a while. In those 120 minutes, one taxi (87) apparently didn’t ask for the reservation name so we were left clueless before I called back. One taxi showed up but refused to take less than 6 people in the vehicle. And after 120minutes, it was a taxi for people who had long left. So after 120 minutes, my taxi still was not there. And if I hadn’t constantly been chasing them - it may never been. Congratulations. This is the worst taxi service I have ever used. You’d think after a.. 90 Minute delay they’d offer you a reduction or something. Nah, customers can piss off at Townsville Taxis.

Fantastic service. Taxi driver friendly and very helpful. Taxi was really clean. Definitely recommend Townsville Taxis.

Was told at the end of the fare I would be charged a $15 fee. When I questioned this, the driver said it's to cover uber coming to town. Way to go and shoot yourselves in the feet TSV taxis. You think you would be trying to lower the prices to compete, not start robbing people of more money because you're losing business!! What a joke.. and so the decline of the taxi industry steams ahead!! UBER from now on.
