I've been coming here for ages, years infact never had a problem, now I can come in & say 'My usual please' It's not a place where you look for fine dining! Highly polished cutlery & plates, or quality service, It's a place to hang & get food. Now for the old man he is fine! He's not grumpy, it's just the way he acts just say hello! He smiles back!

The hotdogs was yummy and the coffee was good too but they can improve the service quality.
Use to enjoy coming here to eat with my whanau as food is really well cooked yummy to enjoy good prices untill i noticed a not so nice attitude towards children & homeless from the old guy!!! Very nasty to the point we stopped dinning-in here!!! We also noticed birds flying in then taking a number all over the furniture so 1 star for me i don't want to even give a star
I don't know how someone can give this place a poor rating. Are you going to get Michelen starred food and waiters who hang off your every word? Definitely not. But the staff are friendly enough, the place is clean, and the food is great. The variety of meals is impressive and the portions are decent, especially when considering the price. I will definitely be back for the really cheap food and can only imagine those that have given this place 1 star either had a completely different experience or need to check their expectations or get over themselves.

Waited for almost a hour for our food. Even when shop was empty food still didn't come. When asked they said it was coming but they hadn't even started cooking it. There was no apology. I would not recommend.
First time in otaki and this looked like the place for comfort food, we followed the tradies in and it paid off big time, great selection, clean place with tasteful decor and the food was cheap, generous and seasoned well. This is the place to stop in otaki for a feed.
Good, basic lunch bar type foods.
