Once in two weeks, imagine an eclectic display of actual fresh produce just plucked off soil, naturally bright, ripe, plump, and smelling fresh. And this is set in a locale fit to host an action scene- barren,sandy, cargo containers, n smelly creek. In this archetypical beauty meets the beast scenario, vendors arrive early morning with cartloads of all types of fruits n veggies. Go soon to grab the freshest divine smelling produce. You can buy in small quantities or in boxes/bags. Some sell olive oil n fresh bakery products too. Prices r down-to-earth n so are the vendors. I c many of them chatting up their customers giving off a community vibe. The market isn't squeaky clean but who cares. It's rustic, it's bargainable, it's chattery, n it's welcoming. So many nationalities converge here representing a microcosm of our great dynamic country. The drive to this market is equally interesting. Driving by the old quarter that's Port Adelaide n turning off the corner throws u into container territory followed by a slim road flanked by wilderness. It isn't the likeliest of places where you'd imagine to find a thriving fruit n veg market but there it is. And down-to-earth!

Best to get there early if can ,check prices as stalls can vary quality ,vegetables may not last so check quality.

Love these markets! Best priced fruit and veg in the West, and a friendly, multicultural atmosphere. I love coming here and getting a nice mix of great produce and friendly atmosphere. Open air market, so dress appropriately for the weather. Bring cash, but you only need half of what you'd spend at almost any other food market in Adelaide.

This place is great, fresh fruit and veg at excellent prices. Local produce and friendly people. Love coming here and would always recommend others check it out

Great for buying bulk fruit and vegetables at a great price, but don't expect a clean environment or a place to hang out for the morning.
