Nice staff, great burgers, fresh fish and a large serve for minimum sized chips. The best part for me is that they are happy to grill fish without using flour.

Came here to get the family fish and chip pack with chicken salt. The chips was nice and crispy but the rest was average. I wish the fish portions would have been bigger.

Just before I get started, I need to let you know... I’ve never been so disappointed with a meal I felt the urge to write a review. But let me warn you, I wouldn’t serve Torquay’s fish and chips to my worst enemy.
I was incredibly excited to grab fish and chips on a warm summer night. I was drooling at the thought of a crispy battered flake and some fresh chips. However, my preemptive excitement soon disappeared as I took my first bite.
Firstly, that ‘crispy’ flake was the first sign that something was horribly wrong. It had the texture of rubber and was incredibly bland and that wasn’t even the worse part! It was about the size of a squished fish finger.
Next up we’re the dim sims, I figured they couldn’t stuff up such a fish and chips classic. Boy was I wrong.. they were soft, squishy and questionable to say the least.
I forcibly washed them down with my $5.50 coke before tucking into some chips. I asked for minimum, and boy oh boy, does this place put the MINIMUM in minimum chips. I could almost count the number of chips they gave us on my hands, falling far short of their promise of 600 grams. Furthermore, I made sure to ask for chicken salt but I’m not convinced they even put regular salt on them.
And finally as I thought my meal couldn’t get any worse, I convinced myself to push on and try the crab sticks. The ‘crab’ in these crab sticks was indistinguishable from the soggy batter and was flavourless. It was the final nail in the coffin of this garbage meal.
To top it all off, this meal for two cost $35.50 - not including the 2% surcharge for using card. If I could, I’d give this restaraunt (if you could even call it that) 0 out of 5 stars but alas. Please save yourself the heartbreak and NEVER EVER go to Torquay fish and chips. If your choice was to starve to death or eat here, save yourself the trouble and choose the sweet release.
It was a meal most foul.
