Topyard

$75 for bottomless cocktails and what we got was cordial with barely a hint of alcohol. Dirty glasses and floaties in the jugs. Safe to say we didn't stay for our full 2 hours. Friendly staff. Not much of an atmosphere on the Friday evening.

We booked here before a concert, the company cancelled our reservation 3 hours before the booking without any notification other than an email. No explanation, just a refund receipt. Being the long weekend we then spent hours wandering around the city trying to find somewhere with cocktails and food before we settled for one overpriced cocktail and McDonald’s for tea. Very very disappointing. I had seen the reviews that they are notorious for this but felt I would still give them a go. Take my advice and stay away. Not worth it.

Great venue for after work drinks are events you may want to host. Offering an amazing view of the city buildings. Affordable drink prices and a good kitchen.

I wouldn’t even give them one star. I read the reviews bad I still thought I would give them ago. We brought tickets for a bottomless cocktails on New Year’s Eve got there and none of the doors were open. We tried calling them. No answer we found another number tried to call them no answer but they left a message saying the event was cancelled. Do not go here.

We went to top yard yesterday for bottomless for a friends birthday at 6:30pm when we arrived we had to wait out the front until 6:55pm before we were let into the venue because they “hadn’t opened yet” but they did add extra 10 minutes onto our bottomless time at the end. Once we got to our table there was only the choice of 3 cocktails but when we booked on the website it listed 4 different cocktail choices and when we went to order food they said the kitchen had closed so we were unable to eat at the venue unless we ordered food from outside of the venue.

So many memories here, I have seen in the new year on this rooftop many times the music the explosion of fireworks was a great night. Unfortunately drones are apparently the new fireworks .

I really did want Top Yard to be great, I had seen good reviews and did not think anything less. Unfortunately my experience with Top Yard was nothing alike. After making a booking for a large group of people for a 21st birthday, I received a text message, not a phone call, telling me a function had been given priority of the rooftop. If I had of know this I would not have booked for the rooftop and I assume I should not have been able to book a table on the rooftop if a function had of been organised first. A few days later I was told the function had cancelled and my booking could proceed on the rooftop as planned. When I arrived for my booking, there was a large 21st function taking up the whole space. A small section was open for the public and I had been given a table in the corner. Not only was this disappointing, to my knowledge, there was no function taking place that night because that is what I had been told. I understand that functions take priority but realistically the entire rooftop should have been reserved for the function as it was deeply uncomfortable to have to sit in a corner around their guests. So much so, we had to leave and seek another venue. Staff were not apologetic or accomodating at all.

I made a booking for my best friends birthday at topyard and spoke over the phone to them and they confirmed my booking and requested that I send them a text message which I did multiple times and called multiple times and received absolutely nothing. To then only show up at topyard for our booking and be turned down at the door for another function booking getting priority over any other bookings that night. Meaning not only me and my booking were turned down at the door but many others and there bookings were also turned down at the door. Not a text message, a call, email, nothing to let us know that we would not be allowed in. An absolute disgrace and waste of not only my time but everyone’s time. I did however feel bad for the security guard in that night because he had sympathy for everyone at the door being knocked back and had to apologise to all of us on behalf of the people at topyard which it was so clearly not his fault. All in all just really disgusted and upset with my experience here.

TopYard was so amazing! My friends and I enjoyed tonight so much as we were hanging together for the first time out lockdown. The staff were amazing and so helpful. Security guards really cool as well! The staff were really accommodating as well and answered all our questions about food allergies and gave us true, 100% honest answers. Amazing Dj, amazing drinks dont forget about the 2hr endless cocktail deal, very amazing, food was great except the pizza wasn’t too good and maybe have been put in the oven little bit longer just a lil bit doughy and I like my pizza real crispy. Overall amazing place and definitely will come back another night!

We went for lunch on a Friday. It was empty, which was nice for us, but not hugely helpful for the atmosphere. However, the rooftop aspect was nice. The service was good - order and pay at the bar and they bring your food to you. The food was decent - burgers and chips which were more like spiral wedges. They have beer, wine, cocktails, and jugs. Seemed like it would be a decent club atmosphere.
