An awesome place to camp. Has barbecue places where a family or just a group of friends can camp and enjoy. Has a small hike of 2.1 km along the waterfalls .. it’s a trail which runs through the water falls .. steep hike though for few meters..if you have babies and want to take a pram for the hike, it’s a strict no no. Instead carry a baby carrier.
Bigger area than campground 2. Really well maintained by VicParks. New drop toilets were relatively clean considering how busy it was. Saturday night was only a few spots free, can be hard to find a level tent site if this is the case. Sunday night was practically empty with only a handful of dampers present. Lots of people over the weekend trying their hand at catching some trout in the little creek running alongside but didn't see anyone successful. Definitely go for a stroll up to the waterfalls, well worth the short climb up. And don't forget to bring firewood if fires are allowed, you'll struggle to find anything left around to use. Noojee Bushgoods is a short drive for your firewood and fishing needs. Always good to support the colourful locals when you can!
This is a beautiful spot. I'd assume a lot of people would know about this site because of that reason, so try and get in early! Also, come prepared for rain, as it in the mountainous rainforest area of Vic. The falls and rivers are amazing
Such a beautiful well kept campground, a favourite place to go. The river, the trees and bird life are spectacular...camping is free
Beautiful place to stay! You can hear the water running 24/7 and that makes it even more magical. Good amenities, walking trails, waterfalls near by and designated areas to make fire. The closest town is about 20 min. Highly recommended
A great little treasure here. Clean & tidy, well maintained.
Lovely drive in but... there was a 3 metre by 6 metre skip in the camp ground near tents etc full with plastic bags of rubbish which can be torn open by birds. Looked hot and dusty and the road dirt - dusty is directly above the campground which means noise and dust every time someone drives past to visit the falls which is often. Put simply, it looked ghastly and I certainly would not camp there
Beautiful camp-site, get in quick! It fills up fast
Beautiful and very serene in the warmer months, but be prepared to be packed in with crowds at main holiday periods. Winter is very cold and still, ideal for walking. Due to re-open on 2nd January 2020, after what must have been a year or more! of extensive landscaping, rehabilitation and site resting. Just a short walk along the road to bewitchingly beautiful Toorongo River and Falls. NB: in the warmer months, Tiger snakes occupy the grassy and rocky areas adjacent to the river.
Nice place with lots of ppl. ppl are dog friendly. very good place to spend time in nature. falls is nice and clean. Water down stream of falls is very clean.
