Lovely spot with both outdoor and indoor dining areas and nice view of the water front and the boats. Authentic menu and friendly staff. Oyster, tempura prawns and the steaks with fried rice were really delicious. Nice selection of drinks and sauces. The deserts were nice and fresh to end the experience.
In my opinion, Japanese food is centred around quality product, cooked simply with fresh ingredients. In this aspect, Tomiko did incredibly well. With the main cooking ingredients being garlic, butter, sake, salt and pepper, the quality of the ingredients were clearly displayed. We a group of 5 were placed upstairs with another family and ordered the platinum package $100pp. The fried rice was tasty, seafood top quality and beef that melted in your mouth. The amount of food served was adequate and worth the price. The drinks menu was equally expansive, however quite expensive. I feel if there was an adjustment on pricing for drinks, this would be a very easy recommendation to friends and family. Overall our group had a fantastic time, I would definitely return.
After long beach walk, we had lunch here. The shared platter is great to try different food. The squid is very fresh and full of flavours. We sit outside and can see the beautiful harbour. Great spot to catch up with family and friends!
It was an absoloutely amazing experience! The front of house staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating.. Chef Matt's fun and informative interaction along with his culinary skills were superb. It was an over all, fresh and relaxing experience. I will be highly recommending it to all my friends and family.
We have loved our dinner at Tomiko. Decided to do a Tapas style with a few choices, and were not disappointed. Would come back again. Staff was attentive when they could be.
Fine dining place. We sat at outdoor dining. It was well decorated. Food wise is alright. A bit expensive. The one dish that stands out to me is the fried rice. For the other stuffs, you can get it from nearby Japanese restaurant.Food: 5/5
Great location. Foods are quite ok. Staff are on par with the food. We had nearly everything in the menu and it was all reasonable. Just remember that a Miso soul and a Salad comes with every meal.
Great place for lunch or dinner. Food is great! My favorite was the popcorn chicken and the beef teriyaki. You can also have full on Japanese experience in the grill tables but I preferred the a lá carte menu. Service was excellent and very friendly! We seated outside with the kids and they loved the views of the marina it was like free entertainment.
We came here for our 5th year wedding anniversary, really not knowing what to expect. We knew the price before coming Diamond Package $139 pp, we knew it was going to be top quality food, AND IT WAS. We had a memorable experience and that means so much to us, will we eat here again? Maybe for our 10 year anniversary. Recommend trying to come with a group of friends or family, we didn't like some of the people we had to sit with. Drink prices here are pricey, for the same drinks you get anywhere else, this is the only downside to this establishment. Thank you for a lovely night
Just disappointing. A 1:15pm Sunday table booking had been made well in advance but the greeting server looked at us blankly when we arrived. Asked if we wanted to sit inside or out, we requested inside, it was a 36° day. As the person led us inside they became more confused, there were no inside tables! So they offered to seat us at the bar. We ordered drinks as soon as we sat down a trick we use to prevent us from just sitting there until they bring the menus Now, we adore food from all over the world and will and have, tried so many cuisines. Japanese is my all time favourite hands down. We eat cheap and cheerful but once a month or so book somewhere more 'special' So the fact that none of the wait staff were Japanese should have been a warning. Eating high end Japanese food is as much about the experience as the food. The Indian staff brought none of this. They knew nothing of the food and were unable to offer any recommendations. When our order was taken I let the staff member know that we only needed chopsticks but she firmly placed knife and fork in front of me stating "Incase you need to cut your spring roll in half" Ugh! So, $39 for a tasting plate. We also ordered Seaweed Salad and a Garlic and Egg fried rice. The food arrived and we had to ask for chopsticks AND napkins! The food was bland and nothing. It may as well have come straight out of the frozen McCain section of any supermarket. Literally ANYONE could make this at home Absolutely bland, boring and downright insulting at the price. Our spring rolls tasted strangely like chemicals, we had a bite each. Total bill $99. We cannot recommend. 1 star just to leave this review, otherwise -
