Fantastic well developed walks. One walk gentle, one steeper. The tracks preserve the environment while keeping us safe, so I approve. The forest was beautiful. It was quite busy. There was an spectacular view at the top of the steep walk! Would love to have seen inside the gunning placement on the lower path. Interesting bit of history.

Really enjoyed visiting this area when holidaying in Australia. A short drive from the Pacific highway and well worth stopping off here, good beaches and villages all around Nelson bay

we were only here for the day, it was so nice. The water was very clean and clear. Wish were could of stayed longer. Plenty of parks for the kids, beaches have lots of space, and plenty of shops in the area.

Mt tomaree has beautiful views of the ocean, islands and Nelson Bay (soldiers point and other towns can also be seen from the summit). Wherever you look, you can't go wrong! There's also historic battlements left over from WWII. At the base there's Zenith beach, which is one of my favourite beaches in the whole region, great spot for a picnic and a swim.

This was my first time visiting tomaree mountain. The walk was very scenic with beautiful views overlooking the port stephens area. The hike to the top was quite steep but quite manageble. The pathway to the top is paved brick with handrails and seating placed around so that you can sit down and have a rest if needed. As you get near the top there is a metal staircase with safety railing so that the climb can be achieved quite easily. I took the route that takes you past fort tomaree and I found it very interesting checking out the old gun encampments built during world war 2. When you get to the top the view is amazing, I would highly recommend doing this walk if you are visiting the port stephens area.
