Such a great store with so many Japanese grocery items that fills the need of all the cool and yummy things you miss after getting back from Japan. Such lovely and friendly staff too, and best damn sake selection!
Service could improve - it’s definitely not up to Japanese standards. Staff didn’t bother with basic customer service no greeting, smiling, or thanking, and pushed past people. On top of that, the old Japanese lady rudely stared at me while I paid and collected my groceries. Very small store with tiny selection of overpriced products - there are other better Japanese stores around Sydney.
Stepping into this Japanese grocery store felt like a delightful journey right back to Tokyo. The friendly staff and patrons added warmth to the experience, with lots of spoken Japanese I felt reminiscent of the markets in Japan. While the prices may lean towards the higher end, the authenticity and quality of products offer a taste of Japan that you can bring back home.nnAll that's missing is some fresh mitarashi dango .
Genuine Japenese run mini supermarket. Vast array of selection from frozen to dry and snack variety. Small section of miscellaneous homeware items which is a little on a pricier side.nnSignificant language barrier but not your conventional service either. When spending a hundred dollars on a mere two baskets. Service improvement recommended.
Now of course, most things that are from Japan are quite expensive because of import tax and etc. Their selection is quite large compared to other Japanese super markets I have been to.nnThe staff are friendly and helpful as one would expect. As a man who for some reason cannot find his car keys, it's the same thing here, one of the staff members helped me find dried kombu when I spent a total of 7 minutes trying to find it...nnIf there was an item you saw before and you don't see it anymore, be patient as they probably have them on backorder and it'll take some time.nnSince it is located at the Northbridge plaza, parking is plenty.
