TLC Dental Winthrop

The problem with this place is they have been around a long time and became complacent. We saw 2 dentists and the male one was very problematic. My 6yo was anxious about the treatment and he said i need to consider that it was maybe i was fussing over him. His tone towards me was extremely patronizing. After they wouldnt allow me to help him be comfortable, the dentist wouldnt proceed saying he needs full cooperation from a 6 yo, otherwise he would get bitten. Mind you he was in the chair and mouth open, just making anxious sounds. Finally he suggested we go to a private pediatric dentist with months waitlist and a $1000 anaesthetic fee, when we came in on dental benefits, and said something like "we are not charging you for today, usually im making $400 or something an hour" to make me feel like i got something for free. We went to a different dentist and was in and out in 30mins no problems whatsoever. Avoid this out of touch service.

My first visit here. Very cursory "comprehensive oral exam" by Dr McCarrey lasting about 2 minutes. Also what felt like a fairly rushed scale and clean. Won't be back.

Wonderful service and expertise. Had to have a plate made and fitted. Anthony was extremely competent, kind and thorough. I would recommend Winthrop TLC to anyone who wants a great dentist.

Too expensive, I washed my tooth there, and costed me $261 dollars. My private insurance normally covers all expense, but this time only cover $82 dollars, I have to pay other $178 just for normally tooth wash. I won't be there again. The equipment is old, need to be upgrade as well.

Old fashioned, out of date. Went in to have a temporary crown replaced for a permanent crown. From the first day followed by 4 months of pain and antibiotics, many visits and needles, even the tooth moulding for the new cap had to be re-done, another visit more numbing needles which I did not need. To mouth rinse you get out of the chair and go to a sink in the corner of the room where there is a plastic cup you get water out of the tap to rinse - no antiseptic rinses here ! Enough was enough. Antibiotics does not stop an exposed nerve ! Not before them removing a tooth to finally stop the pain. This did not solve the problem. I then had to go to an emergency dentist which was a sigh of relief. Modern and no more pain. I now have dentist phobia after the amount of needles and pain I went through which I am sure will pass with my new dentist.

Wonderful experience settling a bill mistake. Courteous, efficient, and speedily resolved. Customer first attitude. Also, great Dentist Mark Taylor super professional. BTW the name is Winthrop Dental Centre same address and phone.

I wish to thank Peter McCarrey and his Team, more than a Specialist Medico, GP, doctor and his expertise. I am grateful to be able see Dr McCarrey with his quality time, his amazing skill to be able to address health, medical, medication and mental health issues and communicate - it is appreciated, it is a life changer. Thanks to The Hatherley Medical Centre and the friendly courteous team.

Just had wisdom tooth pulled. No pain whatsoever Mcarrey did a good job and was gentle as can be. Happy patient.
